Packaging

The Sharkoon MS-Y1000 ships in a black and white cardboard box with an image of the chassis on the bigger sides. The smaller panels feature specifications in multiple languages and a sticker to let you know you are getting the white variant.


The chassis is held in place by two Styrofoam spacers and further protected by a clear plastic bag.

Sharkoon ships the accessories in a reusable pouch, which is a nice touch. It contains a full set of black screws, rubber rings for HDD mounting, and a 3-way PWM splitter cable. Interestingly enough, Sharkoon did not include any zip ties. On top of that, there is the well-written manual and a sticker sheet.

Sharkoon Compact VGCK

Sharkoon also sent us the vertical GPU mounting kit specifically for the MS-Z1000 and MS-Y1000 enclosures called the "Compact VGCK."


It comes with the necessary hardware, manual, and a PCIe 3.0 ribbon cable, which is deliberately short considering the enclosure's compact dimensions and slim width.
