Closer Examination and Build Quality

The Sub Mini could hardly be simpler in terms of construction and overall aesthetics. It is a cylindrical subwoofer with a height of 30 and a diameter of 23 centimeters (9.1x12 inches). It weighs 6.35 kilograms (14 lb). The sealed case of the Sub Mini is made of recognizable thick and smooth plastic and is manufactured in white and black variants.

The only detail that breaks the monolithic design of the subwoofer's body is the oval opening in its middle, inside which there are two speaker units. Sonos points out that the shape of the opening is optimized for the best reproduction of low frequencies, and pays tribute to the company's larger and more powerful subwoofer, the Sub.

The Sub Mini only has two connectors on it: for the power cable and (completely optional) wired LAN. Both are located in the recess below the subwoofer.

There is also a rear reset button and an NFC chip integrated on the top of the subwoofer. If you touch it with your smartphone, you'll speed up the process of adding the Sub Mini to the Sonos S2 mobile app, used for its configuration.
