A Closer Look

The Tuniq 3 is a mid-tower ATX case with an aluminum front bezel. The top two-thirds of the front is a door that swings open to reveal the seven external drive bays. The door is rather thick and solid, but it includes a recessed area that can accommodate most fan controller knobs and switches. The Power and Reset switches, as well as the Power and HDD activity LEDs are set in the top of the door. This keeps the front panel clean and does not require the user to always open the door every time the turn their PC on.

The right side panel is fairly plain, with the only noticeable features being the recessed handle and the case feet that extend the length of the case.

The rear of the case follows the standard ATX format, with the power supply located at the top of the case. There is a 120mm blue LED fan installed behind a honeycomb style grill. There are silver thumbscrews securing the left side panel in place, and all of the PCI slots have replaceable covers on them.

The left side panel uses the same window as most of the new Sunbeam cases, with mounts for a 92mm or 120mm fan, plus a VGA vent below. On the side along the front edge is a pair of USB ports and two audio ports. There is a spot marked for a Firewire port, but it is not included.

One of the unique features of the Tuniq 3 is the base that is lit up with standard 12" blue CCFL tubes that could be replaced with other color ones if the user chooses to do so. These tubes have an inverter that is connected to an On/Off switch located on one of the PCI slot covers.
