Packaging

The Ventus X Optical RGB comes in a box with Thermaltake eSPORTS' signature color scheme, where the red and black colors are highly dominant. The front can be opened, and you can look at your new addition through a transparent plastic cover here. The contents of this package are the mouse itself, an installation guide, a warranty policy book, and two stickers—unfortunately, an extra set of mouse feet has not been included.

Shape

The shape is a right-handed ergonomic design that resembles the form factor of Razer DeathAdder, Zowie EC series, and ASUS ROG Gladius, including many more. It feels somewhat like a mixture of a Gladius and DeathAdder in my hands. I am happy to say that it has the right curves in the right places. The thumb area grooves inwards in a way that helps with controlling and picking up the mouse when needed. Both main buttons have comfort grooves as well, so your fingers can rest on them without being forced outward. The back area of the top shell has thirty-three little hexagonally cut ventilation holes. Where this upper shell connects to the lower one, there are two cutout ledges where air flows in if you swipe the mouse around—and it works! Within the last few years of testing and reviewing many mice, I have seen an awful lot of gimmicky functions, but I have to give credit to Thermaltake here as this feature actually is useful for gamers with sweaty hands.

It is safe to say that the Ventus X Optical is a large mouse. Because of the form factor, it is mainly designed for palm grippers with medium to large hands, but this is entirely up to the user's personal preferences. I have 18 cm x 8.5 cm hands and wasn't really able to use this mouse with a claw grip, but for a palm grip, it was pretty comfortable. In my opinion, this mouse isn't the best choice for hands below 18 centimeters. At 128.8 mm (5.07") long, the Ventus X Optical RGB is a long rodent. At the widest part, it's 71 mm (2.8") wide, but the grip's width sits more at around 64 mm (2.52"), which is still relatively wide. The height is 42.6 mm (1.68") at the tallest part, and the hump is pretty much centered.
