The Wemax Nova UST Projector with its True 4K output at a competitive price manages to impress. While you should not be expecting Native 4K in this price range, that visual difference is so minor and only really of concern to hardcore enthusiasts. Its compact size and weight are great for smaller spaces and the straightforward, understated design will fit in well with other home-theater equipment.

However, there are some functional omissions to the Wemax Nova which may be deal breakers to some. The one with the most widespread impact is the lack of native Netflix support. We have seen other products on Android TV 10 with basic, but native Netflix capabilities. However, that is easily solvable by connecting something like a Chromecast with Google TV. Secondly, you are omitting any 3D capabilities, which will be no-go for a small but dedicated crowd of users. Lastly, while the employed Amlogic T962X-H provides Dolby DTS-HD and Dolby support, the sound settings within the OS are pretty basic. With all that mentioned, odds are that none of these omissions will stop the general consumer looking for an affordable 4K UST projector.

What matters to the vast majority is that you get 4K resolution, a bright and well-balanced projected image, low-noise operation, ample audio prowess, and ease of operation. The Wemax Nova delivers on all of those and adds to it with a solid support app within the OS to ease the setup. The projected image is well-balanced in contrast across dark and light scenes and has acceptable color balance out of the box. It rounds things out with a capable remote and excellent set of I/O, which includes an easily accessible USB port on the side. All of this is delivered as a refreshingly compact, clean platform. Odds are you won't be able to take your eyes off the screen at any time of the day. At the well-priced MSRP, and periodically even more aggressive sale pricing, the Wemax Nova is easy to recommend.
