Mind readers these guys are, I was just looking to get a portable FW800 drive that's bus powered, and BAM! 1TB for... admittedly more than I can afford, but still!

BAM!

Even though they are expensive they really are worth it in my opinion. They are quality enclosures and OWC is an awesome company (up there with Newegg in my list of favorites). I have an Elite AL Pro Raid enclosure sitting on my desk right now. If you go to OWC's site you can usually buy just the enclosure itself and find a hard drive on sale somewhere. This can save you a lot of money, although I'm sure the 2.5" 1 gig drives aren't going to be cheap anywhere.

eSata is the only one one without power delivery integrated; USB has 5v at 500mA, which I'm surprised is even enough to a 1TB drive, even if it is 2.5", my internal 250GB has a rating of 700mA. Firewire has up to 12V, which is easily enough for an external drive, and some silly amount of Amps. I imagine that when using eSata, you just have to plug in a USB or Firewire cable, even if just for power.

@timta2: I'm considering buying just the enclosure, I have a few 2.5" drives lying about, and finding a decent enclosure has been tough, they're all crap and expensive. Only the most expensive support FW800 too (I already have an expresscard in the slot, so I'd rather not use eSata, as I'd have to swap them about I imagine).
