Gigabyte GeForce GTX 590 Exclusive Bundle Detailed, Benchmarked
Gigabyte want to launch its GeForce GTX 590 in a big way. The company prepared a special, probably limited-edition package, which it refers to as "Exclusive Bundle". Packed in an industrial-looking toolbox, Gigabyte is including its reference-design GeForce GTX 590 3072 MB graphics card, a load of cables and accessories, and a Gigabyte GHOST M8000X gaming mouse, in its complete package (including adjustable weights). Gigabyte's package looks very well made, advertising the products inside well. It kind of makes sense to pack a ultra high-end graphics card with a high-end gaming mouse. With this, Gigabyte is looking to project the GTX 590 as more of a premium gamers' product (than something you buy and put under frozen gases right away).
Gigabyte's press deck also included some benchmark results. Testing is completely internal to the company. Gigabyte is a vendor-neutral graphics card partner (it sells both GeForce and Radeon), so these numbers can be taken at face value. According to Gigabyte, the GTX 590 rocks 3DMark Vantage at low resolutions, but the gap between it and Radeon HD 6990 closes at higher resolutions. It admits that Radeon HD 6990 is a faster graphics card overall for 3DMark 11. In game tests, GTX 590 and HD 6990 trade blows with each leading the other in different game tests. If these figures are to go by, it will be a very close and interesting battle for supremacy between the GTX 590 and HD 6990. Gigabyte's GTX 590 Exclusive Bundle is priced in China at a little under US $1,150.

I'd also like to see the performance next to 2xGTX560Ti and 2xGTX570 both SLI...
I don't know what gigabyte has done to it but I can't imagine youd pay over a grand for it.
Judging by those, the 6990 should be about the same as the 590.
lol @ the vantage mark, probably with physx on. Its even slower on farcry, an nv loving game.
This is pure WOHUU! For the most kids as it's the angry, hidden fisher man sitting on living room going somewhere from 8-16 everyday, but sure for a good looking fisher bag he'll open up the wallet for 1,150$ any day.

These cards should be epic underwater, don't get that wrong.
Here in Australia the card retails for $1099 - at least $200 more than the HD6990 and it cannot even beat it outright.
A shame really. I was looking forward to trying nVidia again for my next build.
Perhaps we need to wait for the second-gen of this card before seeing some decent results?
Been checking out PCCG, but it's not listed as yet. Possibly tomorrow (official release date).
Thing is.. in a few months, the HD6990 will also have settled in price and much more closely reflect the actual RRP than the prices they charge now, so it seems AMD's already ahead on price as well as performance with their beast.
Might have to bite the bullet and go with it in a few months time, instead of the GTX590.
I imagine the GTX590 would fold a lot better though..
I mean really if it's a few % slower overall, yes they lose the top card bragging rights, but if its perhaps cooler/quieter etc it could still be very worth the money if you are in the market for a card of this caliber. I for one am steaming in anticipation for the spiritual successor to the GTX295 (which I had) :D
Just need to remain calm & patient.
Calm
and
patient.
:/
Is it here yet??
:p
btw, wheres dual 460 made by galaxy? im still had a hope for them..
"still blinded by that one-grand-card"
