Microsoft to Deliver Six Patches Next Week

Microsoft has today announced that next week, on this month's 'Patch Tuesday' it will be releasing 6 security bulletins - four rated 'Critical' and two 'Important' - that will tackle 11 vulnerabilities. The issues set to be resolved affect Windows, Office, Internet Explorer, Forefront UAG, and .NET Framework, and could lead to remote code execution and information disclosure.

The six patches are scheduled to go live on April 10 at 10 a.m. PDT (5 p.m. GMT). As always, Microsoft recommends that users update as quickly as possible.

Yea, patch holes that no one knows about or exploits. And always remote code execution.

Yep, have fun while your computer reboots while doing something important and you were away because it needed patch KB9001 for a feature you don't use.

Or, you could update manually...

First time I've ever seen people complain about a company issuing patches for potential security issues.

Tough crowd.

So you don't know how to change the settings for that, or how to choose which patches to download and install?

Lol, wow negative comments on Microsoft patches for windows... Yet everyone's biggest cry (as a general user population) is it's not secure (like they even have a clue) but seriously...

Thank you Microsoft!

Personally, I am glad that they support their products... and, I, also, thank Microsoft for putting forth the effort.

Think about it... at least you don't have to pay for a yearly license to use it or get updates!

If you don't want the updates turn it off or choose which ones you want to install. You got the options.

Only time I have ever complained about an MS patch is when it broke something I use. Other then that I have no idea why anyone would complain.

I did and I have. I update when I get a notification but don't allow it to auto-update.

But that means fuck all when it's suddenly found something REALLY interesting and update regardless of settings.

“Patch Tuesday”, well written.:) Do these include patches and updates to the Win8 trial or just Win7?

Nothing in the bulletin about Win8 beta/trial. I would assume they will be included in the release version.

Not sure how you have your settings, but I've never had Windows update and reboot on a system which has AU shut off. That would be a disaster for my work servers.

Oops ... sorry for the double post. I'll give myself a warning.

Please re-post warning PM.

Manual update check once in a while when you're not doing anything important. Problem solved.

Wrong setup man!

Got to go in Control Panel\Windows Updates\Change settings\Important updates & then choose "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them"
That is all
This way you do the updates you want at the time you want just don't download updates until you are ready to do so

People don"t complain about the updates, are complaining about annoying update pop-ups, and restart reminders. I use at work a station with WinXP and this is really really annoying, especially when you cannot restart your PC for 1 week. (Takes like 30 minute to re-start all the programs, logins and remote desktops again...)

So shut off AU notifications in the control panel or completely disable all tray balloon tips in the registry.
