More GeForce GTX 690 Details Surface

We know from older reports that NVIDIA is working on GeForce GTX 690, a dual-GPU graphics card based on the 28 nm GK104 silicon, we also know that its launch will be strategically timed to follow that of AMD Radeon HD 7990. Expreview scored a few juicy details about this card. To begin with, it is reported that GeForce GTX 690 will draw power from two 8-pin PCIe power connectors.

The GeForce GTX 690 will use a PCI-Express 3.0-compliant bridge chip. Its display outputs will include three DVI and one DisplayPort. PSU with at least 650W capacity will be made a system requirement. The entire feature-set of GeForce GTX 680 will be carried over. The exact specifications, core configuration, and memory amount, remain at large.

32GB of ram would be overkill. Unless you run loads of VM's from your computer. I gots 8GB. the only time i find i use 'ALL' of it is when ARMA II gets bugged out and keeps all the textures loaded up in the RAM or with the HD textures in Crysis2 but I havent touched that game since last year and unistalled right after i completed SP campaign.

though setting that uneeded ram for RAMDISK or another type of caching program might be very useful.

perryra1968Can't beat my Diamond 5970 for $299.00! That black friday deal on the Egg is still "A" number 1. I won't upgrade until I see clear leads by the competitors with a decent price/performance ratio. Until then, my 5970 for $299.00 is still the CHAMPION!
That card will do you well for a while yet.
As for the GTX 690, I think it would be best to have the normal 4GB card and a 6 GB card. The HD 7990 will have 3 gigs per gpu, so I am sure Nvidia board makers would like to match that.
