Crysis 3 Pre-Orders Spotted with Leaked Banner

Rock, Paper, Shotgun stumbled across the German site Neogaf which leaked pre-order screens and a banner depicting the Crysis nanosuit with a bow and arrow. Which seems sort of incongruous to the nanosuit, but maybe the Strength mode will enable us to shoot arrows that fly for over 20 miles. The leaked screens show the game on Origin listed at $49.99. No other details are known at this time.

FrickI only want it for the story. I actually thought Crysis 2 was pretty good.
It was. 2 months after its actual release. And it would have been better if i played it then for the first time. Poor graphics for that time and bugs (especially in multiplayer) really turned me off.

seriously Bows? and looks like its still in the city -_-

hehe speaking of Crysis I just bought retail Crysis2 for 18€. It looked like a "reasonable" price for this crappy dx11 port.. bought it mainly for Maldo mod - this stuff looks great, also he optimized few hw gfx like POM, overdone tessellation, shadows, correct reflections,.. :)

lilhasselhofferReading other people's responses, you'd find the following link:www.computerandvideogames.com/343460/crysis-3-takes-place-in-a-heavily-destroyed-new-york-first-details/
Oh now I see....
:wtf: So other than the bow which hopefully won't drain my cloak while I kill aliens....
...
.....
WHAT THE HECK EA.

...
I'm really wondering how they're going to do this within the confines of the storyline. Weren't the Ceph in New York all killed in the end of Crysis 2?... Plot hole?...
Unless suddenly we get a second alien threat at the same time and they somehow decided on New York due to the Cliche.

RejZoRI'm not going to pre-order the 3rd one. Did such mistake with Crysis 2 which i greatly regretted. Stupid Crytek screwed me big time. What i got was an average shooter with crappy graphics (DX9 garbage clearly wasn't the DX11 that we all anticipated and were promised to get it). Not to mention idiotic bugs that they fixed after 2 months!

Have started playing it in DX11 again (after the patches) but never finished it. Playing something that you already know just isn't the same as the first time.
agreed

NO ONE should pre order this shit, i built a dx11 fast pc for 2 , pre ordered, then didnt really play it for 3 months ,till the dx11 patch came out, why ,because the multiplayer(id have hammered this) whas totally shit and totally hammered with cheats

by the time the game was upto scratch, ie what they said to expect and what i preped for(dx11)

it was fifteen quid on steam , so crytek ,next game you make ill be waiting for the 15 quid copy , and i too still havent finished it as i too did a bit too much prior and now cant be assed:(

lilhasselhofferThank you EA.

Not only have you screwed up Crysis 2's coming (yes, I regret pre-ordering that steaming pile of mediocrity); given the Mass Effect fans a giant middle finger twice over (bad endings+"free" dlc to "explain" the bad endings); been named the worst company in America; and tried to use a "flood" of anti-gay e-mails to get the public relations under control, but you're now telling us there is no way you will consider any setting other than New York.

What happened to "this is going on all over the planet, and you've only managed to stop one of them?" Where is the suspense? Do you really find yourselves so creatively bankrupt that the only way to make people feel attachment to a setting is by throwing in a national land mark? Color me disappointed.

Hopefully this game will redeem the second, but I'm not holding my breath. The taint of EA reeks on this one, and I cannot see how it will be able to escape the inevitable...
My thoughts exactly. Even I was surprised at the whole "worst company of America" thing, but was made clear when a lot of the games we liked got screwed up. Besides Mass Effect that you meantioned, they also screwed up one of my favorite franchises, Dragon Age. The 2nd installment was super lame compared to the original, and "meh" as a stand alone. I would have been excited for this news had I not been bored to death with Crysis 2. Seriously, graphics where one thing, but bugs and mediocre everything had me uninstalling the game before reaching half point.

.... how is ME3's ending EA's fault? Didn't Bioware make the game?

EA buys developers (ie. BioWare).
EA imposes stupid terms on acquired company (ie. "must release a title every year").
Developers are pressured/rush things up.
Game = Sucks
???
EA -> Profit

EA is the publisher, and dictates terms to Bioware. If you were to be the publisher, and saw the opportunity to pump money out of a fan favorite series, wouldn't you take it?

In order to pump the most money out of a franchise you need it to run into the ground (see: FIFA or NFL yearly games). In order to do this you can't have a satisfactory ending that closes all plot threads, or your fans won't have anything to come back for. EA needs an open ending for future games.

Bioware promised us a trilogy nearly a decade ago. Trilogy means three games, that wrap up all plot arcs. In case you missed it, trilogy doesn't equate to a cash cow.

EA, holding the pocket book, told Bioware to leave the ending open for an easy sequel. Bioware said they promised closure, EA said do it or we cut funding. None of this is illogical or backhanded, unless you're a consumer that is. Bioware made a promise, EA redacted it with money, consumers get boned.

EA therefore screwed up ME, like they do with all of their franchises. Enough said.

I read somewhere ages ago that if they were to make a crysis 3, it would be much more like the first one ie. the whole sandbox-type gameplay. Who knows maybe it will have masssive sandbox levels like no. 1 but be in the city, i think a city would be better for a sandbox level

For me , f*ck! the story i don't even care about it as i don't want to watch a movie , i just want to play a game & have fun , i go true the levels with all gun's blazing FTW!!:rockout:
Same as for car games from A to B with the pedal to the metal & i don't stop for anyone :D

As for Crysis 3 i don't know , we'll have to wait & see once it's finish
I bought Crysis 2 yesterday the game self update to v1.9 & i played a little with it & though the graphics was/is better then Crysis 1/warhead then latter on i went & d/l Crysis 2 Dx11 patch (545MB) + Crysis 2 High Res/texture (1.7GB) now it looks even better...:)

They only thing that bugs me is that the game ask me to register/login every time i started , i always skip that & start/continue my game
I guess that is only good for online play?
If so then i don't care as i never play online anyways

Me personally, I still liked Crysis 2's story. It was short, but at least had something of a plot behind it, unlike some games which are just; "go here and shoot these people." At least you were given reasons behind it, and it had more of a "humanity is f'd" feel to it than a lot of games that have humanity even worse off IMO, possibly because of how they have aliens pwning people in front of you while in game, not just in cutscenes.

Though my favorite part was getting to abuse cloaking.

think about it, a year is no time to build a quality game. they are trying to pump it out yearly along with whatever else they can minimize to it's lowest common denominator for a quick buck. why? Because that's what they do. They have no artistic vision so they buy up names that once did, suck them dry, and spit them out. It's new york again so they can recycle content. why waste time designing when it'll sell gold anyway? cod did it:-)

It doesn't mean that the endind will be good either. Bioware is fully capable of screwing up stories themselves. And I'm sure Bioware doesn't mind that it is a cash cow.

So will the PC version already have DX11 this time around? or is it gonna be another rushed and un-optimized add-on/patch?

heh... Crossbow + Optical zoom sight + Maximum strength = ultra quiet sniper
