NVIDIA Teases Upcoming Product

NVIDIA teased what could be an upcoming product on its Facebook page. The teaser picture shows a black surface with NVIDIA "eye" logo etched onto it, and a caption that reads "It's Coming". Speculation is rife, on what that could be. Our own guess is that that's a graphics card pictured with the top of its cooler facing upwards, and rear panel bracket facing forwards (one could see what look like the exhaust vents). Could this be the dual-GPU GeForce GTX 690, or something entirely different? We know for one that this most definitely has something to do with the GeForce brand (and not other brands such as Tegra, Tesla, Quadro, etc.,) since it was posted on the NVIDIA GeForce Facebook page.

Yeah, but when you look at the Nvidia logo it looks like it is on a curved surface and not flat like it would be on a board.

Much fun speculating. :)

If that is graphics card, the pic is off the PCI-E power side not display connector side and they can be anything, even curvy.

Thinking it's a cooler.. It kinda reminds me of a Gainward phantom. But what's under it.
By the orientation of the nv logo, you're supposed to look at it from the side. So: gfx..

"more crippled"

The GTX680 is not a crippled GK104 by any means.

Another guess: maybe its a new TESLA series of Pro Grade cards for HPC? I remember seeing pictures of them in their own dedicated enclosure.

thematrix606Crysis 2, BF3 and Skyrim?
did you really just say skyrim? HAH!

That game is so easy to run as long as you have a CPU since its CPU limited.

Now that Cryengine 3 has been released to general public i hope someone ports Skyrim to it. NVM they can't

Hopefully GK110, or maybe SoundStorm 2? The one sound card to rule them all...

BRB ! IS THIS A CLUE ???

Toilet paper dispenser that prints off forum posts and front page articles from S|A in realtime, alternating with the wit and wisdom of Richard Huddy and Nigel Dessau?

Since it's GeForce orientated...and we're speculating, why not an external enclosure for a GF card (Thunderbolt connection natch)...even though I't's more likely to be a mundane peripheral add-on, or a GK106/107 announcement of an upcoming announcement.

NiodixSkyrim??? Very nice joke.... BF 3 with 6950 - 40-60 fps average (full max 1920 x 1080). Played Crysis 2 only in Dx9 mode
You obviously don't have a 120hz monitor OR use MSAA? My 7970 runs Bf3 on Ultra with average of 55FPS in multiplayer. It dips down to 40 easily when there's a bit of action on the screen or outside.

So, watcha smoking? I just want to know so I can stay away from it. :D

That is definitely some sort of case. Could be a chassis or gaming console.

But, the thing that's coming doesn't have to be the thing in the picture. Maybe they wanted to troll us more.

the54thvoidHmm.. I've postulated some features. It looks like a case of some form. To my aging eyes I can see grill work, 2 hex (allen) screws and a curved front feature. Doesn't look like a card to me. Looks like a fancy box/case.

Thanks for the enhanced pics:toast:

It depends how you look at it.

Also I was talking about 670TI not "680gtx" and if you look at the right angle then yes it is and a lot, both of them, including AMD's "flagship" ;)

anyway, on second thought that looks like some sort of PC case, NV PR at its finest..

lol hope it fails cause they're making such big hype again.

edit: I mean because they are making us making all the hype again lol :p

I see it being anything but GK110 as they would just say it was if it was to slow down AMD sales.

And just see this as a lame attempt to try just that.

But ya never know i guess still just the idea what they want you to think yes.

your calling me a fan? really?

How does it fail when its faster then AMDs flagship for cheaper price(or was), less heat, less power consumption, etc.? The only thing its not as good as previous gen nvidia cards is Direct Compute, but its a gaming card so who cares about Direct Compute. Only thing that fails about it in my eyes is that it is not on the shelves.
