Akitio Develops World's First Fully Bus-Powered 512GB SSD Thunderbolt Storage

Akitio, a leading manufacturer of storage solutions, announced today the company has received certification on the world's first 512 GB, fully Bus-powered Thunderbolt storage solution. In addition to the company's ever-expanding line of storage solutions, the 512 GB model complements the series and is able to reach READ speeds of 520 MB/s on bus power.

Akitio has developed its own low power, high capacity and high performance SSD's that can be used in portable storage products, such as the Akitio Neutrino Thunderbolt Edition. The new 512GB model with a pre-installed solid-state drive (SSD) is available now with an MSRP of $599. Bus powered means that the device does not need to be plugged into a power outlet. It receives its power from the port on your computer (the bus). The beauty of this product is that you can use it when you are outdoors or away from power outlets, just plug it into your computer.

Dude common! Is just like those USB powered HDD that don't need any extra cable for power.
BTW, ALL USB Flash drives and thumbs are so called "bus-powered". LOL.
