NVIDIA Rolls Out the GeForce 331.82 WHQL Graphics Drivers
NVIDIA has today made available a new graphics card driver, the WHQL-certified GeForce 331.82. This fresh build is claimed to offer the 'best possible gaming experience' in Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag and Need for Speed: Rivals, and includes fixes, as well tweaks to boost performance in various games.
According to NVIDIA this driver increases SLI performance (when running at 4K resolutions) by as much as 50% in key titles like Metro: Last Light, Crysis 3, and Battlefield 4. The GeForce 331.82 supports the GeForce 8, 9, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 and 700 Series cards and the ION and ION LE GPUs.

Goodmove Nvidia this will keep the 290- and 290X AIB roll-out on it toes.

So if that turns out to be true, this means the GPUs are kept back by drivers on purpose.
/conspiracy theory.
With SLI+shadowplay only seeing ~80% GPU usage. Getting similar performance in games to.
Shadowplay disabled I get 100% GPU usage like normal. Tried clean install twice now including full driversweeper etc. Re-install previous WHQL drivers and all is fine.
4k is demanding, from the 290x reviews, it sounded like the CF bridges were bottlenecking (as would lower/older PCIe speeds), so it's not surprising to get large changes when optimizing very demanding things
uninstalled old driver and physx, and ran driver fusion after reboot as per my normal routine,
ran the installer and selected display driver and physx only to install as per usual,
display driver failed to install.
NEVER will i ever download anything from TechPowerup sites again.
But I love your site by the way and am an avid reader.
I download the package from Nvidia site and had the same problem.
I then chose to install gforce experience as well as the display driver and physx and then the installation was successful.
It seems that gforce experience is now a compulsory installation.
I tried my 1.212v, 1202MHz Valley run but it failed. Not since 314 have i been able to run Valley @ those clocks at max unlocked bios voltage.
I'll be on BF4 tonight - I'll see then if it's any different.
EDIT: Also DL and installed from here successfully and I never install the GF Experience.
These R331 series have not solved my freezing problems (leave computer on, freezing randomly after 5 mins, sometimes after 4 hours, sometimes after a day).
Still using 314.22WHQL and works great.
