NVIDIA Rolls Out the GeForce 331.82 WHQL Graphics Drivers

NVIDIA has today made available a new graphics card driver, the WHQL-certified GeForce 331.82. This fresh build is claimed to offer the 'best possible gaming experience' in Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag and Need for Speed: Rivals, and includes fixes, as well tweaks to boost performance in various games.

According to NVIDIA this driver increases SLI performance (when running at 4K resolutions) by as much as 50% in key titles like Metro: Last Light, Crysis 3, and Battlefield 4. The GeForce 331.82 supports the GeForce 8, 9, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 and 700 Series cards and the ION and ION LE GPUs.

HammerONInstalled and played a couple rounds of BF4 with no issues. I cannot really tell of any performance increase with this driver over the beta I was using...
Did you look at FPS or using the always inaccurate "butt-dyno"?

Must have scientifically proven results!

Heh, it is not so much that as it is one can't tell the difference between a couple/few or even several of FPS... so in order to "tell" you would need a quantitative metric and not a subjective one. :)

I concur. At least we can mark it as stable for another user.

angellotomicHello people ... I have a MSI GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozer II and the only stable drivers are 314.22. I've tried every driver follows and each was bad. Black screen constantly every day. Will this driver (331.82) we make the same problems? I do not have the strength to try out ....
Special 560Ti driver just for you but 331.58 (+560Ti fix from nvidia)

I have two 550 Ti's

Im not going to bother to try installing those beta drivers because of the simply reason I spent a week installing/uninstalling a bunch of WHQL drivers to finally end up installing 314.22 again.

I have some work to get done and I cant afford to go through the process of testing drivers again. Thanks for the info though, glad to know NV is aware of the issue and hopefully the next major release fixes this.

I don't think 550Ti cards have the 560/560Ti issue, but I could be wrong. You'd be the first I've ever heard about.

Attempted to install several times, including using the GeForce Experience and a clean install but it always fails. No idea how to solve this problem.

Yep. The same as always. It lists the graphics driver status as failed and the other three components as not selected like it has every other time I've attempted to install it.

No one can help you like this. Fill in your system specifications.

Sorry, new to this website. As you can probably tell I'm not incredibly tech savvy. I don't know where to find some of these system specs on a laptop. I'm not sure if you really need stuff like the cooling system for this type of problem anyways but I added what I could find.

Not sure if the official GeForce drivers are supposed to be used on laptops, anyone know more?

GeForce's website lists the GeForce GT 540M (my GPU) as a supported product with this driver so I would assume it is supposed to work. The GeForce Experience also lists this driver update as the update I should be getting. So unless I'm missing something obvious I don't believe it is a compatibility issue.

Yup, I agree. Do you have any additional info like an error message?

I wish I did. All that happens is that it begins the installation process and then stops and shows a menu of the results. The graphics driver is listed as failed and the other components simply say not selected. This happens regardless of if I attempt the express installation or the custom installation.
