Galax Announces GeForce GTX 970 Black Edition

Galax (Galaxy for the EMEA region), launched its GeForce GTX 970 Black Edition graphics card. Built with a new 19 cm long PCB, the card looks more compact than the one Galax debuted its GTX 970 lineup with. The card features an aluminium fin-stack heatsink, which uses a couple of 80 mm spinners. On offer, are factory-overclocked speeds of 1126 MHz core, 1266 MHz GPU Boost, and an untouched 7.00 GHz memory. Available now, the card is being sold at 319.90€ (incl. VAT).

I like the look of this cooler on this short card, looks to be one of the better MITX case cards out there (Or just smaller than normal cards however you want to view it). I could see some nice overclocking on this card!

Galaxy is not allowed to use the name "Galaxy" in EU (because that name is already taken). So they used KFA2 for a while, before deciding to use a uniform "Galax" name throughout.

I don't think it sounds all that bad. Also, it will sound familiar to the old name, so you won't really have to prove your brand to the less-educated consumer all over again.

he's right you know, I saw this thread title and thought "that's clearly a typo of Galaxy". If it were a new name in my mind they'd be an afterthought like "Inno3D" or "Gainward"

Let's try and focus on the important thing - another small GTX 970 in the field. Now we have 3.
