Seasonic Connect a Godsend for Cable Management Novices?

Seasonic showed us a unique new innovation that could change the way you manage your cable clutter, particularly python-wrestling with your 24-pin cable behind the motherboard tray. Called simply the Seasonic Connect, the accessory is a PSU connection hub, or a disintegration of a conventional modular PSU's connector back-plane. A ruler-shaped structure runs behind your case's motherboard tray, with your PSU's various connectors (ATX, EPS, PCIe, SATA), on its either sides. Shorter-than-usual modular cables handle the "last-mile" connection to the various devices. A single ribbon cable runs between the Connect and the PSU, with high-capacity wires for the various voltage domains (+12V, 3.3V, 5V, etc.). Those into PSU cable modding would be breathing very heavily. The upcoming Prime GX750, an upper-mid range model with 80 Plus Gold chops, could be the first to implement this concept.

You'd think they would make the demo system look much nicer. By this example, it doesn't help someone who can't or doesn't want to do proper cable management.

The modder who did the build(s) for Seasonic left it like that on purpose

Hi Guys,

Our partner GGF made a new video where you can see CONNECT and a good cable management for a new PC:

Stay tuned as CONNECT, our One Clean Solution, is set to arrive on the market later this year and we are sure it will change a lot of things.

Thanks.

Hi Puma99dk,

Right now, the MSRP is TBA but we expect the product to reach the market at the end of the year (Q4) and there will be a first batch of 500 units. Pack will include a power supply (GX 750), CONNECT and a set of cables (black and flat ribbon cables). You should be able to find it in the usual channels we are using to propose our power supplies.

More info as soon as we can ;)

Thanks.

Haaaa now that's some good cable management. It does an awesome finish for cases that has a glass panel on both sides.

This is a great idea I wonder how hard it is to keep cool most cases don't have much airflow back there

@seasonic rep is there a plan to release a Platinum PSU with this "Seasonic connect" or will it only be gold?

I am asking because I was planning to buy a Seasonic Prime 80 Plus Platinum or Titanium before I saw this thread.

Hello,

Right now, it's only planned with the PRIME 750GX (80 Plus Gold) and depending on how things will go, well everything is possible. :)

Thanks.

Hi,

As far as I'm aware it's not planned with CONNECT or any or our PSU cable set for now but I can forward your proposal to our PM and see if it's a possible thing in the future.

Thanks.

Just buy the angled adapters and plug the cables in to them.

Probably never bothered to read forum guidelines? Super-checked.

Hasn't been around since that post. Probably ban-hammered?

Ferrum MasterThen what are those there?

Linus did a video on it some time ago

I thought GN did too but did not find that one.

Can it really be more efficient with all those cables ?

All so it added some $50+ lol.
