DOOM Eternal Delayed to March 2020

In heartbreaking news to slayers prepping for the hotly anticipated addition to the franchise, DOOM Eternal, id Software announced that the game's release has been delayed to the 20th of March, 2020, from its earlier 22nd November 2019 release. In its announcement, id Software put quality-assurance as the main reason behind the delay. The developer assured gamers that the game will be worth the additional 5 months of wait. id also announced a few updates, namely Invasion Mode, a gameplay mode that allows you to "invade" another player's game as a playable demon, a Nintendo Switch version that follows the other platforms, and the availability of DOOM 64 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Argh, I was hoping DOOM 64 (for the Switch) would be released earlier.

That's hilarious, given recent history... Wondering what Tim Willits has to say about it

Doom itself was a game changer. I'm waiting and hoping for a better overall experience.

There have been countless crappy delayed games, as well as good rushed ones.
This sentence belongs to pre 2010s

I hope they fixed the crappy UI and just follow the 2016 one, alos don't put voice when Doomguy receive damage FFS. That really annoys the hell of me when watching the preview videos.

March 8th... it is a good day to be born ;)

Gives me more time to save for a 2080/Ti ... that is if the game is RTX enabled.

Looking forward to Doom Eternal as I am with all Doom releases... it is worth the wait

As others, I am all about a delay if it means more spit and polish. But if it revolves around perfecting some convoluted over-balanced online Battlemode they can kiss it. Definitely not a full price buy. MP in Doom 2016 is dead to me. When I first read that Bethesda was keeping MP development for Eternal in house this time there was a glimmer of hope. So far it seems even worse than before. We'll see.

On another note. Maybe this delay will bring things in line with some of the anticipated upper Navi releases. Would really like to see what a 5900 XT would do in Eternal running Vulkan. Only API the game will run.
