TechPowerUp Releases NVCleanstall 1.6.0

TechPowerUp today announced the latest update to NVCleanstall, our lightweight utility that gives you a high degree of control over your NVIDIA GeForce software installation. The app lets you disable a lot more components you don't need than NVIDIA's own "custom install" option, giving you control over things such as telemetry. With the latest version 1.6.0, we have massively improved download speeds during the first 30% of the driver download. An application crash at startup with the Task Scheduler service not working, has been fixed.

The change-log follows.

Well, thank you.
nV drivers are getting worse by each release.
Last one even failed to install saying it needs default VGA driver to work. Seriously, in what century does nV live in ?

I miss Omega Drivers times. Again...

That's great, but I still get the "no matching driver found" on a system with a MSI's 1080ti, even though the current driver is several versions behind. Great in general, shame I have to go through the nVidia website every time.

This never worked for me, not any version, with any driver I tried. I get some DLL error.
Same options, with minimal install, with NVSlimmer works every time, with any driver.
Very strange.

Thank you so much! This is fixed now, through a server-side fix, no need to update NVCleanstall. The underlying issue was a typo in my code ("9" instead of "8"), which caused detection on Windows 8/8.1 to always fail.
