MSI Debuts Multiple GeForce RTX 50 Card Ranges at CES 2025
MSI introduced its groundbreaking NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics card range earlier today—hot on the heels of NVIDIA's formal unveiling of its brand-new Blackwell architecture. TechPowerUp staffers on the ground at this year's CES managed to wade through MSI's enviable collection of custom cards showcased on the showroom floor—taking up-close photos and discussing the latest designs with company representatives. An entry-level family has debuted—in the form of INSPIRE—alongside a new high-end series dubbed "VANGUARD." In addition, TPU was treated to the usual suspects including top-of-the-range SUPRIM cards. MSI has also tinkered with its design aesthetic for the VENTUS GAMING product line.
We will start with the upper echelon—MSI's new GeForce RTX 5090 32G SUPRIM LIQUID SOC model. Well-heeled gaming enthusiasts will likely be handing over a hefty premium for this well appointed dual-slot card. Its stealthy "diamond-cut inspired" premium shroud houses a micro-fin copper base and MSI's patented water block array—ensuring that the GPU and VRAM are kept cool during the most demanding of gaming or professional sessions. The 360 mm aluminium radiator is coupled with the latest STORMFORCE fans in a triple unit configuration. It should be noted that the Ada Lovelace generation MSI RTX 4090 SUPRIM LIQUID model sported a dual-fan radiator setup. MSI reps did not divulge any details regarding extreme overclocking and boost figures for this top-tier Blackwell model, but we suspect that the extra fan will be doings its best to temper Team Green's "massive" GB202 die.A GeForce RTX 5080 SUPRIM LIQUID SOC model is also due for release, but TPU staffers were only able to check out the flagship RTX 50 series liquid-cooled product at CES 2025. They then moved onto taking a closer look at the top-tier air-cooled MSI RTX 5090 SUPRIM SOC card—as expected the manufacturer is deploying its best tech for this premium quad-slot model along with subtle updates to the SUPRIM shroud and backplate design. MSI has worked hard on improving its HYPER FROZR cooling for this new generation—a precision-engineered vapor chamber and optimized squared-shaped core pipes are notable in the spec sheet. A prominent bare unit was proudly displayed next to MSI's chunky demonstration card (see photo below). The debut of MSI's VANGUARD cards—on display in RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti and 5070 (non-Ti) flavors—has generated some interest on the showroom floor. These products seem to be closely related to their SUPRIM air-cooled siblings in terms of features; judging from information gleaned from accompanying booth placards. The company mentions that VANGUARD's design language pulls inspiration from "spaceship aesthetics." It is possible that MSI is offering its SUPRIM-level feature set in an alternate package—the boxier VANGUARD shroud and its carbon fiber accents could appeal to different segment of high-end GPU enthusiasts. We will find out in due time about technical specifications, range hierarchy and pricing. The VANGUARD LAUNCH EDITION cards are also in the pipeline—TPU's GPU database has already listed these under RTX 5090 and 5080 guises.MSI showcased its GAMING TRIO range in many black and white options—TPU staffers were quite overwhelmed with this particular section of the manufacturer's booth at CES 2025 due to the sheer number of options on display. This mid-tier feature-focused family offers "reliable performance and refined style for gamers and content creators." The triple-slot MSI GeForce RTX 5090 GAMING TRIO OC model headlines this lineup, but everything going all the way down to the dual-slot RTX 5070 GAMING TRIO OC was on show.A table or two played host to many GAMING VENTUS cards—MSI's affordable (non-RGB) range is populated by many variants. The TPU crew simply lost count during their in-person browsing session in Las Vegas. It is clear to see that the VENTUS dual and triple-fan designs have been revised to coincide with the arrival of NVIDIA's Blackwell GPU generation. A smoother aesthetic has been implemented—definitely less angular than previous versions. The MSI RTX 5090 VENTUS 3X OC is a substantial product (see photos below), but somehow manages to slip into the triple-slot category. MSI deployed a lone gun-metal gray version—TPU did not spot a white variant. The rest of MSI's latest VENTUS family is populated with gray and white models, in 3X OC and 2X OC outfits. The VENTUS GeForce RTX 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070 models qualify for inclusion in the SFF-Ready Enthusiast GeForce Card list. MSI is readying a number of "OC PLUS" options according to a select few accompanying placards—a clear example being the RTX 5070 Ti VENTUS 3X OC PLUS model. TPU suspects that some under-the-hood tweaks have been implemented on the PLUS variants—we hope to see further clarification from MSI in the near future. The new INSPIRE range is easy to digest when compared to the plethora of options within MSI's aforementioned TRIO and VENTUS graphics card gaming families. The TPU team viewed a straightforward selection of triple-fan units—MSI emphasizes that these models offer an entry-level path into "AI performance" with little mention of gaming credentials. A notable absence is NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5090 GPU—the most advanced within this range is MSI's GeForce RTX 5080 16G INSPIRE 3X OC card. Placards indicate that the INSPIRE cards borrow many features from their VENTUS brethren, but utilize fancier STORMFORCE fans instead of TORX FAN 5.0 tech. In addition to the standard models, "OC PLUS" variants were present at MSI's Las Vegas demonstration area.MSI's GeForce RTX 50 series INSPIRE card dimensions also fall within the SFF-Ready Enthusiast category; ideal for compact PC builds.

Also, if it is not too late and if y'all can catch up with MSI one more time: Why is there no Suprim X this time? Are they saving juicier OC cards for later or are the Vanguards effectively the OC models of the Suprim now? The Vanguards are the top of the line air cooled cards now, i.e. above Suprim, right?
