PowerColor Teases New Family of Graphics Card Products: Hellhound

PowerColor has begun teasing another entry to their graphics card brands: Hellhound is fated to meet the Red Dragon and Red Devil products branding in either physical or virtual store shelves. The tease comes a mere week before AMD is expected to launch their mainstream RX 6700 graphics cards (powered by the Navi 22 GPU with 2560 Stream Processors and 12 GB of GDDR6 memory), and thus, it seems legitimate to assume that the new series will debut with that particular AMD SKU. The color scheme for the new brand logo seems to tease a black, silver and teal design language.

This is what PowerColor had to say in describing their new series: "Hellhound is born, sharp of fang and razor-like claws, covered with fur that is tough like armour. Its eyes burn in the darkness, allowing it to precisely track and stalk its prey. It used to be a battle hound kept by a warrior brave, Yet, its bravery not unnoticed by the Red Devil, saw a chance to make this hound the keeper of his gates of hell… This Hellhound is silent, not a sound it makes as it guards the gates ready to strike in the darkness with a killer grace… Once prey is found, Hellhound will take it down, it strikes with stealth at one stroke!"

Solid State Soul ( SSS )When i see marketing like this on a product, i genuinely avoid it
Yeah, it's completely irrelevant to a GPU. How about marketing the things that make this GPU better than other GPUs, like compact size, superior cooling, increased clocks etc?
Powercolor's satanic theme is just puerile drivel that mixes awkward language from Chinese translation woes with a culture incompatibility that doesn't really suit the rest of the world.

I guess tripe marketing rubbish doesn't matter when you know you're going to sell everything instantly for 50% more than MSRP this year. They could make the cooler in the shape of a penis and have it covered in flashing pink LEDs with a "warranty void if removed" label and people would still buy it because they are so desperate they would buy pretty much anything in stock.

It doesn't look anything like a hellhound, that's for sure.
If I image-search for the word hellhound, there are several trending distinctions that seem to be important: Every image of a hellhound has at least one or more of these things without fail:
  1. Three heads
  2. Glowing red eyes. That's red, not blue.
  3. A wider, squarer mouth with just four massive fangs that resembles the shape of a T-Rex more than a dog or wolf
  4. Horns
  5. Scales instead of fur
  6. Fire
  7. RED
What Powercolor have managed to do here is a make a blue-eyed rat/cat hybrid and get it stuck in a triangular blue cat-flap. Why blue? Blue is the colour of cold and ice and sky, the exact opposite of Hell.

Maybe a botched RGB effect/theme in there?

"sharp of fang and razor-like claws, covered with fur that is tough like armour." or armor, is 20th century English. So, the take away here is, if you wish a marketing job and just randomly write anything that is considered "edgy" you get paid, much like the garbage cnn journalists write. got it."Hell Hound" marketing wise this is something a teenager would write. That is embarrassing.

You had me until you felt the need to inject politics in this discussion. That equals an immediate thread derailment.

TechLurkerKind of disappointed they haven't brought back the "Devil 13" sub-brand for extreme, triple slot, air-cooled versions of the top SKUs; in this case, 6800XT and 6900XT, with higher power limits and OC potential and requiring 3 8-Pin plugs.

Hellhound's coloration kind of reminds me of the Liquid Devil series too; just trading blue for teal. My guess is it could either be an AIO family (the equivalent of the Sapphire Toxic), or a middle family between the relatively budget Red Dragon and high-end Red Devil (and Liquid Devil) series.
I think they only did Devil13 for the dual GPUs, which doesnt really make sense these days as multi GPU is not that good.

Looking forward to see whats Hellhound all about, personally I dont think it's a AIO, perhaps aircooling with a different design?
eitherway, PowerColor has been putting excellent stuff these last few year.
