Earlier today, reports alluded to an XT variant that allegedly sports a generous VRAM pool of 32 GB. VideoCardz has received another RDNA 4 tip-off, courtesy of Tomasz Gawroński and the AnandTech forums. Based on screenshots, Canada Computers has inadvertently revealed regional prices (minus tax) for PowerColor and XFX's opening round of custom Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 models.

Team Red is reportedly lining up an aggressive price strategy; industry insiders reckon that that baseline MSRP for the Radeon RX 9070 XT will be $599. Its non-XT sibling is expected to launch at a minimum point of $499. The Canada Computers leak seems to contain a small selection of models that hover closer to AMD's guidelines, but the majority of listed cards seemingly demand a premium upcharge. PowerColor's barebones models appear to conform closest to Team Red's recommended baseline—according to VideoCardz's conversion-crunching, the Radeon RX 9070 XT Reaper will cost $999 CAD (~$697 USD). The RX 9070 (non-XT) Reaper will come in at $839 CAD (~$586 USD). We spotted no surprises when looking up and down the list of leaked PowerColor RDNA 4 SKUs; TechPowerUp staffers handled Red Devil, Hellhound and Reaper samples at CES 2025. In sharp contrast, XFX appears to have all sorts of options lined up for launch (refer to VideoCardz's chart, below). Two unnamed demonstration units—in black or white—were on display at AMD's recent partner roundup.

Mid-way through January, insider sources reckoned that AMD's China-exclusive Radeon RX 6750 GRE 10 GB GPU was on the way out—a rumored successor was seemingly in line to replace this popular budget-friendly RDNA 2-based model. According to VideoCardz, Team Red's latest "Golden Rabbit Edition" design has launched—exclusively for a China-based buying audience. Team Red and its local board partners have produced a plethora of Radeon RX 7650 GRE 8 GB custom models—reports suggest that a reference model (MBA) does not exist. Several manufacturers have models readied for launch, including: ASRock, ASUS, PowerColor, Sapphire, Yeston and VASTARMOR. Official MSRP for the region is 2099 yuan (~$289 USD). In the West, original launch pricing for the Radeon RX 7600 was $269. The fancier Radeon RX 7600 XT was priced at $329 on day one.

Roughly a year ago, AMD decided against releasing its (RDNA 3) Radeon RX 7600 XT 16 GB GPU in China. Their Radeon RX 7600 (non-XT) 8 GB model did make it to China, but it was largely overshadowed by older tech—mainly Team Red's compellingly priced Radeon RX 6750 GRE 12 GB and 10 GB cards. Spec-wise, the Radeon RX 7650 GRE sits somewhere in-between its two "Hotpink Bonefish" Navi 33 siblings. All three cards share the same number of compute units (32 CUs), but differ in terms of boost clocks and thermal design power ratings. The GRE features a max. boost clock speed of 2695 MHz and a board TDP of 170 W—just a nudge over the Radeon RX 7600's 2655 MHz boost capability and 165 W board power rating. Both cards are frugal enough to rely on a single 8-pin power connector. By contrast, the hungrier 190 W TDP-rated Radeon RX 7600 XT sports two 8-pin inputs—this GPU can boost up to 2755 MHz. VideoCardz has kindly assembled a comparison chart (see below).

As expected, a bare minimum of information is displayed alongside multiple promo images—we witnessed this exact same pattern with the Red Devil's official listing, half-way through January. AMD's board partners are seemingly keeping quiet about first wave RDNA 4 hardware specifications—TechPowerUp and other tech news outlets have, so far, ascertained the fundamentals from leaks and accidental listings.

An extensive hands-on experience—at CES—was covered in our news section, but PowerColor's showroom representatives were not overly chatty when asked about under-the-hood details. Allegedly, the company's Radeon RX 9070 (non-XT) Reaper model has turned up at a British e-tailer's warehouse—printed SKU info indicated the presence of 16 GB VRAM. Judging from photos and renders, the Navi-48 GPU-based Hellhound and Reaper are relatively svelte when compared to the chunkily-proportioned (triple-slot) Red Devil. The new Hellhound model occupies the middle of PowerColor's graphics card product stack—this dual-slot design features a smattering of RGB lighting and a dual BIOS switching system, the latter implies that a factory overclock has been implemented. The slightly smaller (SFF-friendly) affordable-tier Reaper card is reportedly specced with reference clocks—looking at photos, there is no physical mode switcher present on this design. The barebones Reaper aesthetic does not encompass fancy integrated lighting systems—anti-RGB champions will find this choice most pleasing.

AMD enforced strict conditions upon its manufacturing partners at the recently concluded CES trade event—various custom Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 (non-XT) models were showcased, but technical details were not revealed. The TechPowerUp team had a hands-on look at PowerColor's selection of Red Devil, Hellhound cards and newly debuted Reaper design—certain information could be pertained from labels and stickers (cough: 16 GB VRAM) yet brand reps remained tight-lipped about technical nitty gritty under-the-hood. News outlets have relied upon less-than-official sources—such as the Chiphell forum—to obtain performance figures. VideoCardz's working weekend session has produced alleged details about PowerColor's planned boost clock speeds—the headline being that a 3.0 GHz barrier has been broken.

The site's insider network proposes that PowerColor's top-flight Radeon RX 9070 XT Red Devil model is ready for launch with an OC BIOS set to boost matters up to 3060 MHz, while the silent performance mode shaves off fifty—bringing things down to a (still impressive) 3010 MHz. The more middle-of-the-pack Hellhound design is reported to achieve a 3010 MHz boost via its OC BIOS mode, and its silent operation is reported to be 2970 MHz. Additionally, a VideoCardz source reckons that game clocks are somewhere in the region of 2460 to 2520 MHz for both models. The "more affordable" PowerColor Radeon RX 9070 XT Reaper variant seems to lack BIOS switching, so its single operational mode is allegedly capable of boosting up to 2970 MHz.

The changelog is a bit vague and states "The maximum memory tuning limit may be incorrectly reported on AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE graphics products."—we tested it. The RX 7900 GRE has been around since mid-2023, but gained prominence as the company gave it a global launch in February 2024, to help AMD better compete with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Super. Before this, the RX 7900 GRE had started out its lifecycle as a special edition product confined to China, and its designers had ensured that it came with just the right performance positioning that didn't end up disrupting other products in the AMD stack. One of these limitations had to do with the memory overclocking potential, which was probably put in place to ensure that the RX 7900 GRE has a near-identical total board power as the RX 7800 XT.

Shortly after the global launch of the RX 7900 GRE, and responding to drama online, AMD declared the limited memory overclocking range a bug and promised a fix. The overclocking limits are defined in the graphics card VBIOS, so increasing those limits would mean shipping BIOS updates for over a dozen SKUs from all the major vendors, and requiring users to upgrade it by themselves. Such a solution isn't very practical, so AMD implemented a clock limit override in their new drivers, which reprograms the power limits on the GPU during boot-up. Nicely done, good job AMD!

According to the leaked slides, the Radeon RX 7900 GRE will launch at $549, and AMD is comparing it to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 non-SUPER graphics card. In case you missed it, the AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE is based on the Navi 31 XL GPU with 80 Compute Units (CUs), which leaves it with 5120 Stream Processors, and comes with 16 GB of 18 Gbps GDDR6 memory on a 256-bit memory interface, which adds up to a maximum bandwidth of 576 GB/s. The Radeon RX 7900 GRE should fit nicely between the Radeon RX 7900 XT and the Radeon RX 7800 XT.

According to the leaked slides, AMD is comparing the Radeon RX 7900 GRE against the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 non-SUPER, which now shares the same price after the recent $50 price cut. According to AMD's own slides, the Radeon RX 7900 GRE should provide around 14 percent more performance per buck on average, and is between 1 and 32 percent faster, at least in games tested by AMD.

The AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE 16 GB reference model has reached UK shores, albeit very briefly and with a very low stock count—e-tailer AWD-IT Gaming PC (ADMI Ltd.) was the first shop in the region to offer XFX's Navi 31 XL partner card. Team Red's formerly Chinese market-exclusive Radeon RDNA 3 GPU has made its way West—as of late last year—but retail presence in Europe is less than inspiring. Circumstances could change—recent rumblings indicate that more custom options are incoming—GIGABYTE is readying a Gaming OC variant, possibly paving the way for a wider release through mainstream channels. PowerColor's Hellhound Radeon RX 7900 GRE OC model has also been spotted on European price comparison engines.

UK buyers were treated to an initial batch of a dozen (or fewer) XFX Radeon RX 7900 GRE Reference graphics card, at £659.99 (~$832) including VAT and free delivery. AWD-IT's listing is inactive at the time of writing, but the SKU remains as a searchable asset on their web store. It appears that curious UK hardware enthusiasts have snapped up the first round of Golden Rabbit Edition (GRE) curiosities, although the price point was nowhere near as attractive when lined up against past offerings within EU mainlands. For example, Italy's PSK Mega Store had reference stock priced at €542.66 (~$585) a piece, with a digital copy of AVATAR: Frontiers of Pandora bundled in. The XFX Radeon RX 7900 XT 20 GB SPEEDSTER MERC 310 model is currently discounted—£699.99 via Ebuyer UK—representing a very tempting higher-specced custom design prospect (going for only £40 more than the RX 7900 GRE) .

Retailer specific discounts are creating quite the pileup of graphics card options between the $300 to $500 mark. With enough time spent finding the right deal, you could potentially buy a much faster graphics card that you'd planned for, at a given price. Hot on the heels on a recent Best Buy deal that brought the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB down to $344, or within just $15 of the Radeon RX 7600 XT, we're hearing about a couple of Newegg deals that see the Radeon RX 7700 XT down to just $353, or $9 more than the RTX 4060 Ti, and $24 more than an RX 7600 XT.

At $353, the RX 7700 XT changes the game, as it is a firmly 1440p-class GPU, compared to the 1080p-class RTX 4060 Ti and RX 7600 XT. In our testing, the Radeon RX 7700 XT is an incredible 17% faster than the RTX 4060 Ti at 1080p for just $9 more; and 19% faster than it at 1440p. Compared to the RX 7600 XT, the RX 7700 XT is a staggering 39% faster at 1080p, and 44% faster at 1440p. Even with ray tracing enabled, the RX 7700 XT dominates the RTX 4060 Ti. At 1080p with ray tracing enabled, the RTX 4060 Ti averages just 2% faster than the RX 7700 XT, but at 1440p, the RX 7700 XT in fact ends up 14% faster than the RTX 4060 Ti thanks to its much heavier SIMD engine, and 50% higher memory bandwidth. The Newegg deal doesn't even cover a cheap custom design, but the mighty PowerColor RX 7700 XT Hellhound and Fighter.

The PowerColor Hellhound Radeon RX 7900 GRE OC has also popped up on a couple of UK and mainland Europe price comparison engines (published 2024-01-30), so it possible that a very limited release could occur across a small smattering of countries and retail channels—Proshop Denmark seems to be the first place with cards in stock, pricing is €629.90 (~$682) at the time of writing. The Radeon RX 7900 GRE (Golden Rabbit Edition) GPU sits in an awkward spot between the fancier Navi 31 options, and Navi 32 siblings—AMD and its AIB partners have reduced MSRPs in Europe, possibly in reaction to the recent launch of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 40 SUPER series. We are not sure if this initiative has boosted the RX 7900 GRE's popularity in this region, since very few outlets actually offer the (XFX-produced) reference model or Sapphire's Pulse custom design.

Meanwhile, prices of AMD's flagship graphics card, the RX 7900 XTX, has been on a downward slope, too, with a PowerColor RX 7900 XTX Red Devil premium custom-design card being listed for as low as $889 with a coupon discount. This would space the RX 7900 XTX at least $200 apart from the cheapest GeForce RTX 4080, which is starting at $1,089.

PowerColor has registered a significant number of AMD Radeon RX 7000-series SKUs with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC)—these enrollments are seemingly always a good source of pre-launch information. Naturally, the ever reliable harukaze5719 has reported on this latest filing. The most interesting new SKUs within this leak appear to be Radeon RX 7600 XT graphics cards lined up in Hellhound and Fighter flavors—perhaps an early hint of Team Red prepping different versions of existing RDNA 3 GPUs. Scott Herkelman, AMD's senior vice president, stated last month that no new RX 7000-series ASICs were in the pipeline. The already released Radeon RX 7600 8 GB GPU is the sole entry within its lower end gaming segment for the current generation.

Technical information is not included with EEC filings, so we can only speculate about the choice of Navi 3x GPU with these leaked XT variants. VideoCardz has questioned the slightly peculiar allocations of 10 GB and 12 GB VRAM specs: "(raising) questions about AMD's choice of GPU architecture. One possibility is that they are using the Navi 33 with unusual 96-bit and 80-bit memory configurations, although this seems counterintuitive as it would result in lower memory bandwidth compared to the RX 7600. The Navi 33 GPU is typically limited to a 128-bit memory interface." Alternatively, they also propose that a "heavily cut-down Navi 32 GPU" could exist that "grants 192/160-bit memory." SKUs based on AMD's unreleased Radeon RX 6750 Golden Rabbit Edition (GRE) GPU are also visible within PowerColor's registration, also sporting 10 GB and 12 GB video memory configurations. Additionally, the Taiwanese graphics card specialist appears to be preparing a couple of white and SAKURA edition Radeon RX 7800 XT and 7700 XT cards.

PowerColor has released a couple of new teasers for the upcoming Radeon RX 7800/RX 7700 XT launch that is said to be scheduled for August 25th. According to these new teasers, it appears that PowerColor will be introducing both Hellhound and Fighter series versions, in addition to the Red Devil that leaked earlier this month.

PowerColor released two new teasers, one on Twitter and one on Facebook, showing different sides of new graphics cards, and while it did not reveal any specific details, it is obvious that we are looking at the upcoming Radeon RX 7800 XT and Radeon RX 7700 XT versions that will be a part of its Hellhound and Fighter series. Unlike the earlier revealed Red Devil version, Hellhound is a bit toned down, but still should come with a decent factory-overclock. So far, PowerColor is teasing only the black version, and it is not clear if we will see the white Hellhound Spectral version. The Fighter series is usually the budget-oriented series, launching at MSRP, so it will be interesting to see how many SKUs PowerColor will announce on August 25th.

Powercolor has teased an upcoming reveal, set to happen on April 11, for a White Hellhound Edition of what appears to be (hash-tagged) an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics card. A single image of the soon to be revealed model was uploaded to various Powercolor social media sites today. The Specral White colorway is likely applied to the PCB, backplate, fans, bracket and shroud. Powercolor has a consistent history of releasing all-white Hellhound edition cards - quite the rare aesthetic in this market segment.

The current black version of the Hellhound AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX was released last December. The upcoming Specral White iteration seems to share the same LED switching system and twin 8-pin PCIe power inputs - as seen in the teaser image. By and large the specification and feature sets are anticipated to be identical between each model.

With 11 days to go until the official launch of AMD's Radeon 7900-series graphics cards, PowerColor decided to share some more details about its upcoming cards. The two models appear to be the Hellhound Radeon RX 7900 XTX and the Hellhound Radeon RX 7900 XT, with both cards apparently sharing the same design and cooler. The cards appear to be at least triple-slot, but it's not entirely clear from the provided pictures. PowerColor is using a nine-blade fan design and the fans are of course kitted out with LEDs, where PowerColor is pushing what it calls an "amethyst purple" colour for this generation of Hellhound cards. The new fans are said to improve the GPU temperatures by as much as three degrees Celsius compared to the previous generation of fans.

More importantly, the cards have been given an improved backplate, as well as a larger copper plate for the heatsink, for improved cooling. The new copper plate doesn't just cover the GPU now, but also the VRAM chips. The copper plate is connected to eight 6 mm heatpipes. PowerColor also shared that it's using a 14-layer high TG PCB, which uses a two ounce copper power layer. The RX 7900 XTX is kitted out with 20 VRMs, although this appears to be straight from the AMD reference design. PowerColor appears to have implemented a dual BIOS on the card, as there's a switch for OC/Silent operation and the card also appears to have a hardware LED switch, which is nice for those that don't care about lighting up their computer like a Christmas tree. Keep in mind that this is not PowerColor's top-of-the-range card, which is the Red Devil, so we should expect more details on those cards in the future too.

PowerColor is readying a Japan-specific Pink Edition variant of the Radeon RX 6600 XT Hellhound graphics card. For the most part, this is a Spectral White color-scheme variant of the RX 6600 XT Helhound, but with pink replacing the blue bits, to match the colors of the Japanese Spring. We're not sure what's the design message PowerColor is trying to convey with its combination of a butch, violent branding of a predator and "Hellhound" name, combined with flowers and petals, but here's one for those who can find meaning. It's possible that the two 100 mm fans of the cooler light up in pink, out of the box. VideoCardz theorizes that this could even the RX 6650 XT Hellhound Pink Edition, but there's no way of telling, for now.

A leaked specifications sheet of the upcoming PowerColor Radeon RX 6650 XT Hellhound custom-design graphics card, seen by VideoCards, sheds light on AMD's play at carving out the RX 6650 XT. It involves dialing up the engine clocks (GPU clock speed), and memory bandwidth. At this point it is not known if the RX 6650 XT is based on a refined variant of the "Navi 23" silicon, possibly leveraging the TSMC N6 (6 nm) process, or if it's just a case of AMD dialing up clock speeds while pushing up the typical board power, on existing 7 nm (TSMC N7) process.

The RX 6650 XT Hellhound comes with about 4.3% increase in game clocks in its default "OC mode" BIOS, and about 3.7% increase in maximum boost clocks, up from 2593 MHz to 2689 MHz. The "Silent mode" BIOS of the RX 6650 XT Hellhound offers better clock speeds than the "OC mode" BIOS of the RX 6600 XT Hellhound, at 2410 MHz game, 2635 MHz boost, compared to 2382 MHz game, 2593 MHz boost. The other big surprise is memory clocks, with AMD possibly using 17.5 Gbps GDDR6 memory speeds, compared to 16 Gbps on the RX 6600 XT. This results in a 9.4% increase in memory bandwidth. The RX 6600 XT Hellhound uses a single 8-pin PCIe power connector, for an input capacity of 225 W (including the PCIe slot power), which is sufficient for the card's 160 W typical board power. The TBP of the RX 6650 XT Hellhound is not known, but given that its specs sheet still shows single 8-pin, it has to be under 225 W.

AMD is expected to announce their Radeon RX 6600 graphics card on October 13th according to leaked documents. The graphics card will feature a cut-down Navi 23 GPU with 28 Compute Units and 1,792 stream processors compared to 32 and 2,048 on the RX 6600 XT. The card has also been revealed to feature 8 GB of GDDR6 memory running at 14 Gbps on a 128-bit memory bus. The first images of cards from board partners including XFX, ASRock, and PowerColor have been published by VideoCardz covering 5 different RX 6600 models.

The XFX Speedster SWFT 210 features a unique shorter PCB design with a relocated 8-pin power connector in addition to a redesigned backplate which differs from the RX 6600 XT model. PowerColor appears to be releasing Hellhound and Fighter models with identical designs as their RX 6600 XT counterparts featuring 2-slot cooling and single 8-pin power connectors. ASRock is preparing two Challenger series models both sharing the same PCB with the single-fan Challenger ITX and dual-fan Challenger D. These new cards will reportedly match the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 according to a leaked internal benchmark.

PowerColor debuted its Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics card series with the RX 6600 XT Red Devil and RX 6600 XT Hellhound custom-design graphics cards. The lineup will be joined by additional models from the Fighter and Red Dragon series in the future. For now, the RX 6600 XT Red Devil is a beefy, triple-slot card that's about two-thirds the length of larger, triple-fan Red Devil products from the company. This one features a dual-fan setup, but the styling is consistent, including the air-dams near the tail-end that light up. The card features a compound aluminium fin-stack heatsink with at least two fin-stacks skewered by a common set of heat pipes.

The Red Devil features the company's highest factory OC tier for this GPU, a meaty 12-phase VRM, and goodies that include dual-BIOS, addressable-RGB headers, etc. It draws power from a combination of 8-pin and 6-pin PCIe power connectors. The Hellhound, on the other hand, features a more compact dual-slot design, with a lighter heatsink that uses three heatpipes ventilated by a pair of 80 mm fans that light up. There's no dual-BIOS, but you can toggle the blue LED off with a physical switch. The card draws power from a single 8-pin PCIe power connector. The company didn't reveal clock speeds or pricing.
