New NVIDIA S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Optimized Drivers Coming Soon

Relating to Firingsquad.com, NVIDIA will release a new S.T.A.L.K.E.R. optimized graphics driver for the GeForce 8 series next week. The new optimized driver should increase the performance especially on GeForce 8800GTX cards, because these cards aren't much faster than their "little brother", the 8800GTS, when playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. with current available drivers. Additionally the new driver should provide the missing SLI-functionality in the game.

It is truely needed... I think the game will be as laggy even with these new drivers. Because the reason of bad performance in the game is clearly from bad coding, dont get me wrong, i love the game. But in certain area´s in the game, the performance takes a nose dive, hopefully the new drivers will help, but i doubt it. This must be fixed by the game dev´s, no drivers can fix bad coding issues in the game it self... But maybe the drivers can help a little atleast.

IceMasterCJFreshGo with ATi and you won't have this problem.
The game lags just as much on a ATI card, with dynamic lightning enabled.

Settings are your friend. It's not poor coding.

I don't think the issue is the cards....the game really lacks the finishing touches that it needs. The patch helped quite a bit, but there is still a lot that needs to be fixed.

Losing previous saves with the patch is pretty indicative of poor coding in my opinion. Or, at the very least, not spending the requisite time to address an issue and opting to squeeze something out the door instead.

i have, and i cant say i saw any issues on either card (not yet anyway) though it really dosent like anti aliasing on my ati card, granted its not the best radeon out there, but the hit seems too much when compared to using aa in oblivion or fear, might be better on 7.3 though, ill have to try (im still on 7.2).

I know my card stuggles in STALKER with AA turned on, even at lower resolutions.

I see no real improvements with the AA settings on at any setting, be it forced via CCC or using the ingame sliders...
