More R600 3DMark06 figures appear - 12K with the XT

Our last findings on how fast R600 cards perform in 3DMark06 caused a lot of buzz. Let's see how the following tidbit shapes up:
The VR-Zone has some numbers they couldn't keep for themselves regarding a Radeon X (sorry...), HD 2900 XT coupled with a Core 2 Extreme QX6700 (quad core) processor. They say with the latest 8.361-RC4 drivers they got around 12K with that R600XT card which is faster 2000 points higher than the scores from FX57.net. They price of this card will be 399USD which would be quite a bargain.

Its the price that wows me. I'm not sure if anyone read the article on the inquirer about AMD aiming to bring down the price of the high end graphics market.
If anything i am sure as hell all for it, dammed Nvidia getting away with chargeing what they like for top end cards shall soon be no more (ATI did it to, but with AMD in the show its a different ball game).

This is just awesome. Id like a release date for the U.S. and for the rest of the world in that regards. Nice to see a decent price on the card. Still a little high for my taste (Id prefer 300 bucks for the top end) but its a nice price point.

wow. i am more than willing to drop $400 on the top card. especially if it plays dx10 games smooth on high res for a few years. :rockout: of course my 3800+ isnt going to cut it now.

Wow... this will be great. Less than 1k upon release. Sheesh, Nvidia better down-price everything they have or else they will be a sitting duck like Sony was when compared to XBOX360 (Coincidentally the XBOX360 Has a R500 and the PS3 has a NV70 ).

Pretty much Deja-Vu if you ask me.

Woot nice.. I'll have to save some of my leftover money.. 400USD aint to bad but in Canada it will prob be 550-600.

Hopfully I can get one from the US :D. I might have a job real soon too that pays well :)... Though I do want a 1 gig ram card for my RTS games.

The quad core itself would increase scores greatly, even with the same drivers. Of course it would also improve scores for the 8800GTX equally. 3dMark06 has a big section of the score allocated to pure cpu performance.
