Xbox 360 Elite finds its way onto eBay

Although the Xbox 360 Elite isn't officially set to launch until 29th of this month, the first console has already appeared on eBay. Assuming it's genuine, this console was purchased in California from a Target store, and anyone wishing to bid on the item (currently standing at $800) can receive it on 24th April - if they're willing to pay the $99 delivery charge of course. So far, there are no figures on how many consoles will be available at launch, but retailers such as Circuit City have already sold out of their initial allocations, so they may prove difficult to get hold of. For anyone who's desperate to get their hands on the new version of this console can bid for it here.

Update: the console has now bee sold for $5,100 US

To infinity ... and beyond!
i would never pay $800 on a 360! I hope it doesn't end up like the ps3! where they sell for $4000 and 2months later you could go to your local Best Buy and get one!

I paid 500 for mine off ebay, with shipping and a ton of extras. It was only 2 months old and the new stock that didnt overheat. This price, however, is ridiculous.

You're not paying 800 (at the moment, soon be more) to own a 360 - or an Elite for that matter. You're paying the extra cash for your 15 minutes of fame - having something that everyone want's but can't have.

An ordinary 360 does not have HDMI, the smaller chip fab, or the larger harddrive. And before you argue, yes people do care about HDMI. As I have been waiting for this since the 360 was released. But obviously purchasing something for more than retail ($500) is just foolish. But it's the price you pay if you absolutely must have it.

JessWhy is HDMI so important? Its possible to get to 1080p without it.
It's digital, it allows transmission of advanced audio codecs, and rather than at least 4 cables , you now have one. If you're happy with component, then giddy up.
