EA Sports Demonstrates F1 23 Graphics Settings and Customizations on PC

See the features bringing F1 23 to life on PC - ray tracing, custom graphics, control support, exclusive VR, and more bring the sport to life on PC. Be the last to brake in EA SPORTS F1 23, the official videogame of the 2023 FIA Formula One World Championship and discover the features bringing the pinnacle of motorsport to life on PC.

RAY TRACING
Ray tracing accurately simulates the behavior of light to closely resemble real-world physics, creating lifelike reflections, refractions, and shadows in real time. In F1 2023, further advancements have been made where certain scenes now include more complex ray tracing in the form of Dynamic Diffuse Global Illumination, which simulates the way light bounces off objects in the environment, creating more complex indirect lighting effects in real time.
CUSTOM GRAPHIC SETTINGS
A large number of settings are included to allow players to tailor their gaming experience to the needs of their hardware and their personal preferences. Both players and the hardware they use can vary, so we want to allow players to pick what suits their unique experience best, along with suggested presets for players who don't want to tinker with settings.

EYE TRACKING SUPPORT
Become one with your F1 Car - track your eye movements when you're behind the wheel to improve performance.

CONTROL SUPPORT
Extensive support for controllers, wheels, pedals, and custom hardware.

HIGHLIGHTS & REPLAYS
Export reels to video files, save full replays and even share them with friends.

CUSTOM RACE SETUPS
Use the Steam workshop feature to find and download balanced setups for every Grand Prix by using custom setups created by the community.

PHOTO MODE
On PC, Photo Mode now allows players to capture Super Resolution images with higher resolution and greater detail-ideal for a PC background or to print out, frame, and admire. PC Players can also snap 360 degree images during games and 360-degree videos from replays, capturing those exciting wheel-to-wheel moments to share with friends and fellow racers.

VIRTUAL REALITY
Exclusive to PC. Feel the drama of the race from right inside the cockpit.
Pre-purchase F1 23 Champions Edition and receive 3 days early access, Verstappen exclusively designed customisation items, Braking Point 2 customisation items, 18,000 PitCoin, and more. Plus Owners of F1 22 or F1 21 get 10% off.

TomorrowThere is more to interesting races than who wins. Yes Mercedes dominated until 2021 when Red Bull finally caught up with them (WDC win but Mercedes took WCC win). Then in 2022 (both WDC and WCC wins) and 2023 so far Red Bull has dominated.
But if you know that the champion is gonna definitely be one of two chaps even at the start of the season, and it's not necessarily based on their skills, then what's the point?
TomorrowIf they make it once, they will milk it every year and run i to the ground with microtransactions etc. So be careful what you ask for.
If they choose to do so, that's fine. I've got the F1 2013 and 2014 games, and I'm happy with that. Just because something's released every year, it doesn't mean you have to buy it every year. :)

AusWolfYeah, I do. I used to watch it when it was about competition instead of money (about 10 years ago).
LOL! It was ALWAYS about money, like every other sports since like 70+ years... Especially true for all sports with technical aspects. But even is sports that has absolutely no tools to perfect, there will be the biological part with all that stuff chemistry can do fpr you to perform better on the field while not getting busted for doping.

THU31NASCAR:
Nascar isn't only driving in circles, they also got some road tracks. ;) I was also laughing about Nascar, until Gran Turismo 5 introduced me to it. Driving in circes looks easy, but actually it isn't at all. Aslo there are cars around you, constantly switching positions. On road tracks Nascars are even more fun. No traction control and getting the heavy cars through corners feels like bear wresling. I did hear they changed the cars IRL for the new season to perform better on road tracks, made them lighter, better suspension, etc., so it could be pretty entertaining and worth a look.

P4-630Not sure why they still show a picture of hamilton since he's not the top dog anymore....
Most likely because he's still the king of "endorsements". Also looking at the salaries chart, all the top dogs on the cover.
They change the drivers on the covers every year, so that's most likely why Verstappen isn't on it. Or he was too expensive. Or because he looks like a fish. I don't know, ask EA.

EatingDirt$70 for a game that releases every year. What a joke.

No new cars, no new tracks. What's the justification for the $70 price tag?
Licensing costs. It's that expensive that EA started to pull F1 games now 2 years after release from the stores. Before Codemasters where bought by EA in 2021 they still had the first game from 2011 on sale. Some months after the acquisition they pulled most of the older F1 games from the stores.
Prima.VeraAfter FIA completelly destroyed F1 with the crappy 1.6L turbo engines that sound like a lawn mower, I do not find the appeal of playing those kind of games anymore.
The V6 turbo engines also do not blow up as entertaining as the V10 engines. But the first years of the turbo aera was quite tense. Egines where blowing left and right.
AusWolfNot only do they sound like lawn mowers, but the fact that you know who's gonna win the championship halfway into the season just because they've got the best car makes the whole F1 experience tainted by money and ultimately boring.
I was hoping that after the Liberty Media US takeover things would get more fair. F1 right now isn't sport, it's sponsored show running. Who pays the most makes the rules. F1 budget caps and more engine suppliers won't make a big dent either, they need more of the same material to work with. Also the track selection under Liberty Media is just horrible. Most of them got no room for overtakes or even errors.
AusWolfIf they choose to do so, that's fine. I've got the F1 2013 and 2014 games, and I'm happy with that. Just because something's released every year, it doesn't mean you have to buy it every year. :)
But if you wanna play online and folks move on every year you kinda have to, too. ;) After 2-3 years servers getting pretty empty.

P4-630Not sure what Belgian you mean...There isn't any Belgian F1 driver these days.

Dutchman Verstappen is the best F1 driver there is at the moment.
Ooh man this topic is sour as f... Dutch are on top in chip machinery, in F1...

I smell lots of vitriol for not having the biggest baddest stuff any more :D Hilarious
I don't give a rat's ass about F1 or Max, but still. Dutch pride. Muahaha

Also... this is all luxury racing. Karting. That's the real deal :D I've had the chance to do this with some frequency lately. Man its awesome :D
AusWolfYeah, I do. I used to watch it when it was about competition instead of money (about 10 years ago).

Interestingly, successful race drivers who try themselves at Nascar aren't doing that great.

Anyway, I don't want to start a fight about F1. I just want a decent Nascar game instead of the yearly F1 updates.
Anything that gets aired on TV is instantly all about fame and money. Let's not delude ourselves here.
Football is 100% the same. If you can buy the best players you win. GG

You clearly don't know nothing, how about you start your own Nascar thread to shitpost in because the BS your spouting is raising hairs on necks.

The recent changes limited all team spending and froze engine changes while Redball HAD the advantage, then you have Adrian Newey finding new and amazing floor based ways to cheat and verstappen driving like me on a monday late for work( a Tw@t).

You wanted a Nascar game F off elsewhere, and try and get one made , do it yourself, and do mind some of us F! fans won't shitpost in it just Cos?. :) :p

@Vayra86 Im STill undefeated at 47 in Go Karts, 3x champ (70+Mph) Lewis and Max are lucky I grew up skint.

Clearly you aren't following F1 in 2023, Verstappen is the best driver at the moment.
Checo has the same car as Verstappen but he lacks some driving skills and concentration...

So who do you think is a better driver in 2023...

He is good but not the best. For me, Hamilton and Alonso are much better drivers than him

He was the lucky one for 7 years having the faster car...And was mostly on pole because every time they tuned the engine power up a nodge during qually..
Luckily that time is gone now, no more of that....So boring all those years that the F1 lost many viewers.
Since Mercedes isn't the top dog anymore, more people started watching F1 again.
Also hamilton has no clue about his car mechanics unlike Max.
And Max is the best driver in tyre management.
Alonso is a good driver, agree.

That's where rules come in, in which regards, Nascar is just way fairer. They've got stricter restrictions on car development (most of the parts are supplied centrally), they've got the play-off system, mandatory yellow flags, races divided into sections, etc. A lot more "artificial" balancing to make sure everyone gets a fair chance. Last year, they had 16 different winners in the first 26 races. When did something like this happen in F1 last?

Course you can.

You did start off in a F1 release thread moaning about NASCAR.?!?

I'd see the exact opposite of that as trolling though so won't do such a thing.

NASCAR isn't F1 and vice versa.

In the UK, "allegedly" real men do Stockcar racing, round ovals, makes NASCAR look soft as Ffff, that's a fact not opinion IMHO.

Ah, so wanting for a different kind of racing game that the thread is originally about counts as trolling and moaning? Wow, forum rules must have gotten stricter than yellow flag rules in Nascar!

Please excuse me for being more enthusiastic about something other than the yearly £70 skin packs for the same F1 game. Codemasters is a talented team. They're worth a lot more than this.

AFAIK, there's only one oval track in the UK, but feel free to share about that UK-based stock car racing. I'm interested. :)

Nerds get into slapfight over which racing sport they take super cereal and why its totes better and not for kids like that other sport: the thread.

Everyone knows: the amature racing where they build their own cars are WAY more interesting then the big money fights. And you can watch them locally!
LionheartPfff you're all wrong!!! need a new Destruction Derby game or Wreckfest 2.0!
Yes. Or even better, a return to dirt showdown, or FlatOut 1.0 style game. Or twisted metal style game, theres not enough vehicle combat games out there these days.

First, Know that most of what I'm saying is with a smile, not anger.

So I did say "I" saw that as trolling(I'm not a mod but happy to express my own opinion too), IE Trolling F1 fans, you fully know they don't give two shits about Nascar(traditionally never have< yes a few might ?) and vice versa hence trolling, but moving on.

As stated before you are enthusiastic about Nascar, and would be fine with 70 for it ??- Is that what this thread is about? :p see :)

Yearly EA slapping, yeah it's shit I don't like it and agree but let's keep Nascar out of the debate it's irrelevant to it, as is.

Proper F1 stock car racing too mind, an example, but you asked so.

As ever Await reviews, ill buy it if its good 22 was alright though so V good not just good and never PRErelease, wtaf no ty.

This is awesome, thanks! :D

As for a Nascar game, nah, I wouldn't pay 70 quid for one, no (I never do for any game anyways), but a good 20 would be worth my investment. :)

But you're right, let's leave it. I won't get my Nascar game, and people getting pissed off won't change my opinion on modern-day F1, so... :D

Not hard to guess who you support. :)

Neutrals want to see a fight for the champiomship so lets look at 2014-2021.

2014-2016 Epic Lewis vs Rosberg battles. I know same team but at least was a battle.
2017 Ferrari makes a challenge. Vettel 50 points behind Lewis.
2018 Ferrari has a decent but falls away too much at end, Vettel 80 points behind Lewis.
2019 Probably Lewis's easiest title win of the era. RB improving but not yet enough to mount a challenge.
2020 Easier still for Lewis. Max 3rd again. 130 points behind.
2021 Great team battle during this season, this was great for the neutrals with a tight win for Max, FIA probably should have abandoned plans at this point as F1 finally had two teams fighting really close.
2022 Massive rule changes, freeze on engine development, cost caps etc. Start of like it will be a good season but Ferrari dropped off massively and Max ended up a very comfortable 150 points ahead.
2023 In progress but RB totally dominant, a snoozefest for Neutrals, max can win from anywhere on the grid, RB pretending to have issues on the radio to try and get people excited and Max deliberatly hitting track limits to pretend he is pushing, car 1.5s faster when pushed faster than Ferrari. We just under 1/3 of the season gone and Max has a 60 point lead over his team mate, and a 70 point lead over the closest driver from another team.

The only people who might consider this an upgraded experience is RB fans, as its at another level. Since 2014 I would say the best years were Lewis vs Rosberg, and 2021 Lewis vs Max. All 4 of those years under the previous rules.

The teams got closer once FIA opened up engine development, and progressively Merc lost their advantage. It was finally gone by the time the rules changed, otherwise would probably have been set for a few years of tight Merc vs RB.

Stick Alonso or Lewis in the second RB car i say. :)

2016 had the sickest finale, EVER! :fear: Was absolutely not surprised that Rosberg quit after the win. Just sitting on the couch, I nearly passed out watching the last Abu Dhabi laps.

More like: Indycar = Ford Mustang GT / F1 = Ferrari LaFerrari. ;) It's way more "cost effective" racing.

Cars are even slower than F2 and Super Formula. But still more entertaining than F1 start/finish clown shows.
