What's the use of having two different SKU, since both are basically the same?
As both have an jack 3.5mm plug, it should be analogic then then internals are most likely the same.
I fail to comprehend why won't they roll out an universal version (as it should since its analogic, and it doesn't have an intergrated sound chip as most USB headsets have)

It's a marketing thing. Microsoft and Sony actually pay HP (HyperX) for accessories branding. They are physically the same headset, so HP saves money in production costs but gains a lot more selling "two" products for their respective console audience.

It's likely the other way around, HP pays Sony/MS a licensing fee to be able to sell branded devices, but yes, basically a marketing thing.

They are not only the same 2 headsets, but the same 3 as they also sell a regular non branded version
