Yamaha Introduces Limited-Edition, Anime-Inspired ZG01 Gaming Mixers

Today, Yamaha announced that two limited-edition models of the ZG01 gaming mixer, developed in collaboration with "NieR:Automata Ver 1.1a," will soon be available in the US market. The ZG01 042 and ZG01 153 draw inspiration from the "Pods" that accompany the main characters, 2B and 9S, in the universally acclaimed anime series.

In addition to featuring all of the capabilities of the original ZG01 model that was released in 2022—including intuitive controls and immersive 3D surround sound—the limited-edition ZG01 models will feature "NieR:Automata Ver 1.1a"-inspired designs across the mixer, packaging box, start guide, and ZG Controller application (Windows/Mac compatible). The ZG01 042 will include a white-based color scheme that accompanies 2B, while ZG01 153 features a black-based color scheme that accompanies 9S.
"Fans of anime and gaming will be thrilled with these new limited-edition gaming mixers," said Alex Sadeghian, director, Consumer Audio, Yamaha Corporation of America. "These mixers are an instant collector's item for the fans of NieR:Automata Ver 1.1a. They offer powerful audio mixing capabilities with an anime-inspired design that is sure to take any gamer or game streamer's command center to the next level."
U.S. Pricing & Availability
The ZG01 042 and ZG01 153 will be available this winter for $329.95 MSRP. Gaming fans can sign up to be notified of availability by visiting https://yamaha.io/ZG01NIER.

Fans interested in the new models can also find them displayed at TwitchCon at the Yamaha booth #SW50, today through October 22.

About the ZG01 Gaming Mixer: The ZG01 delivers gamers a uniquely immersive audio experience by allowing users to tailor game audio, their voice, and the voice of a chat partner to their playback environment using the intuitive controller and specialized audio effects for each. It also provides the ideal audio to both their chat partner and the streaming audience thanks to ViReal 3D technology. The mixer features physical controls explicitly designed for gameplay, voice chat, and game streaming to provide simple and intuitive management of all audio signals.

About "NieR:Automata Ver1.1a": The anime is based on the popular action RPG game "NieR:Automata", which was released in 2017 with over 7.5 million units shipped and downloaded worldwide. It's set in a post-apocalyptic world during a war between alien-created Machine Lifeforms and man-made androids. Aniplex and A-1 Pictures produced the anime and began broadcasting in January 2023. After the broadcast of episode 12, the first season's final episode, it was announced that a second season would be produced.

The price is awful but the feature set is pretty great. I wish I knew about this model (the original one, I love NieR Automata but don't really care for the marketing gimmick) before I bought a Creative Soundblaster X4

Having everything in one is a nice idea, but then again you can get a capture card and a audio interface for less.

Oh... I saw 3 HDMIs and assumed they weren't useless... They're just to bypass the audio? wow.

It's for mixing audio into the HDMI signal it seems.

TheLostSwedemixing audio into the HDMI
Mixing the audio from the HDMI, the HDMI output is only passthrough. Given how both xbox and PS5 dropped support toslink and the only direct audio output you get is from the controller which sucks, it's a cool and expensive feature to have. You can easily buy a chinese audio extractor for cheap, but to build one more officially and respecting DRM and HDCP handshakes is expensive to do

It's not about quantity. Yamaha is all about quality and is an audio focused company.

That press release releases many words with specifically saying what this thing actually does. Looks like no product page is up either.

Yamaha is usually a no-nonsense company.

Ah. Sorry that link wasn't visible enough for me. Also, Yamaha needs some SEO.

I think I am just dissatisfied with that product page. And the user's manual is not up yet.

It's just the regular ZG01 with fancy colors and a nier automata themed interface.
