Spec doesnt seem to show depth of card, but to me slim means a 1 slot card, and its clearly not 1 slot.

This is like how McDonald's calls Medium Large and Large Super Size.
To be fair dual slot is really the smallest this card should be, but lets not kid ourselves and think that's exactly "slim" either.

There are a lot of insufferable people out there who will complain about everything no matter what. This is actually a very good idea for a collectors piece. Everyone has been complaining for years that there is no creativity in the pc part space. Begging for artistic designs and unique special items like this card. Then when they get what they asked for they find a new thing to complain about. This is a 2 slot card, just about every 4070 is a three slot card. This is slimmer than the standard 4070 model they offer. If a card being 2 slots is such a big deal that you feel the need to complain about it then maybe you should get a bigger case. There is nobody that honestly thinks they could make a one slot 4070 that doesn't overheat. You are asking for the impossible. If they actually did make it a one slot then the next complaint would be that it is to hot and needs a better cooler.

The 4070 is $550. Do you know how much money it would cost to make an aio single slot 4070? Then you have the problem of having a big ass radiator in your case, defeating the purpose of the single slot card. Even if that did work for people. They would complain about it being overpriced. Nobody is going to buy an $800 4070. It is possible to make one, but it is practically ridiculous.

Didnt a cheaper AMD card have a built in AIO on it? I doubt it would cost a manufacturer anywhere near $200.

Not to my knowledge but you could be right. From what I have seen AMD charges 1100 for the water cooled saphire 6900xt which is about $200 more than msrp. Nvidia only has a watercooled 4090 and it is $150 more than msrp. I am sure they could do it cheaply for a 4070 but it would be impractical and definitely overkill. Also I was not trying to sound like an A-hole with my previous reply. I apologize for being rude.

I think it was the Vega64 if I remember right.

Also sorry if I was a bit strong, I do get your point, the vendors would likely add some kind of premium for it.

Im not sure if you are calling us insufferable. I do agree though. It would be nice to have more collabs, at least personally. I was bitching specifically about the "slim" I dont play WoW but im glad that audience gets a cool piece of tech if they so choose. I have nothing against the collabs, I just consider single slot slim, but its possible I'm out of the loop and the marketing terms for "physical" small-ness is "thin". I do note that while this card takes up (unfortunately) a imo tremendous amount of space wastefully, it is "sleek" in that it doesn't have a ton of bumps, edges and weird shit hanging off of it. It reminds me of my Intel a770 LE or my titan RTX in that regard. In that case I would still use "sleek" over "slim" but I guess you are right in that at least me I was bitching in the wind because of the definition. I dont dislike the card, or its formfactor, or that its an opportunity for those kinds of collectors to get one. My gripe is specifically the verbiage used to try and make it appear to be something imo it is not. Which isnt to say this doesnt happen everywhere (it does) it was just a little blatant even for me.

I very much appreciate a lot of the asian OEMs and companies like cutepet that make really really artistically styled backplates and that makes me happy, even if it isnt my cup of tea sometimes. Im not trying to be ultra bias, or super near sighted.

That gold one looks a lot like the old lightning cards they had.. very nice!

I quite like these slim cards, they aren't overly sized for those who want smaller cards. Too bad that the regular size doesnt seem to exist with these around.. Rather have both choices.

TheinsanegamerNIf that's "slim" then I'm comfortably petite.
