Thermal Grizzly Launches the Intel 1851 Delid-Die-Mate Heater V1

Thermal Grizzly, a high-performance cooling solutions provider, introduces the Intel 1851 Delid-Die-Mate Heater V1, a tool designed to assist in removing the heat spreader from Intel Core Ultra 200 CPUs using the Intel 1851 Delid-Die-Mate V1. The heater raises the temperature of the CPU and the delidder to the required 165°C for delidding.

Delidding processors based on the Intel Arrow Lake architecture (Core Ultra, Pentium) carries a higher risk compared to older Intel CPUs. This is likely due to structural factors such as the size of the CPU die and the fact that the CPU die consists of multiple smaller dies, known as "tiles." To minimize the risk during delidding, the CPU should be heated to approximately 165°C / 330°F to soften the indium solder.
The Intel 1851 Delid-Die-Mate Heater V1 is a PTFE-made housing for the Intel 1851 Delid-Die-Mate V1 delidding tool. The heating elements are powered via a USB Type-C connection, and the temperature can be monitored through an external OLED display. A power adapter for USB power supply is not included. A power supply unit with at least 65 watts of power is required to operate the Intel 1851 Delid-Die-Mate Heater V1.

The control unit of the Intel 1851 Delid-Die-Mate Heater V1 can be adjusted and controlled using three buttons. The preset temperature of 165°C can be increased or decreased as needed. The heating element can be turned on or off at any time. When the target temperature is reached, the heating element automatically turns off. For safety, the heating element always turns off after 30 minutes.

Short Information
  • Heating element with USB connection
  • Heats the CPU up to 165°C
  • Important: Scan the QR code, watch the video, and follow the instructions!
Warning Notices
Caution: Removing the heat spreader ("delidding") of a processor is done at your own risk! Delidding the CPU voids the manufacturer's warranty! Any damage caused during the delidding process is not covered by the manufacturer!
Caution: When delidding a CPU with the Intel 1851 Delid-Die-Mate V1, it is essential to watch the video available on Thermal Grizzly website.

Availability and Pricing
The Intel 1851 Delid-Die-Mate Heater V1 product is available for order through the Thermal Grizzly Webshop and Partner Reseller Network at a price of €89.90.

165C?

Erm... doesn't that kill the CPU?

Nope, just melts the indium, I watched his video about this a few months ago, clever lad.

This is what happens when you give an overclocker a CNC machine, you make neat stuff :)

Consider: How did the solder get there in the first place?

It's the combination of heat and current that is dangerous, not just heat. (At the temperatures you are thinking of.)

I honestly just thought it was much softer solder, some of those indium based stims can melt at like 110-120C.

I've not baked a CPU but to reball a card / dead xbos afaik it was like bake at 220F.
