Manhunt 2 needs a platform
So, you may have heard the news about Manhunt 2. Getting a complete ban, subject to appeal, by the BBFC in the UK, followed swiftly by a AO rating from the ESRB in America - which effectively places great restrictions on where the game can retail although the ESRB is a voluntary system.
Recently contacted by gaming bloggers at Kotaku, both Nintendo of America and Sony Computer Entertainment of America have now confirmed that they will not be allowing titles with an Adults Only rating onto their respective platforms, the Wii and PlayStation 2 and PSP.
With no PC version of the game currently planned, the game is essentially homeless and Rockstar is left with the options of either abandoning the game completely, re-developing it with a less violent theme, or hope to God that an ESRB appeal will lead to a different outcome (not likely).

stupid censors! :banghead:
I was actual looking forward to playing this on my wii after all the positive reviews
I say there's another option for Rockstar. They should just go rogue, and release titles for what they want, when they want. lol
The wording of this article puzzles me, though -- what does the writer mean about the Playstation 2 being Sony's "respective platform?" Is this just a typo or a nod from Sony that it might be seen on the PS3?
They should just release it on PC, and make it even worse than it is now.
Titles rated M (Mature) have content that may be suitable for persons ages 17 and older. Titles in this category may contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language.
ADULTS ONLY
Titles rated AO (Adults Only) have content that should only be played by persons 18 years and older. Titles in this category may include prolonged scenes of intense violence and/or graphic sexual content and nudity.
However, I would imagine that Sony would want any game that would sell since they are losing on the PS3.
Hmm XBOX360 would def. be good to make this game for as well since they have a nice spot in the market.
In other words I'm okay with the ban
Germany is (of course :( ) out.
let me see, ireland, new zealand, australia are out to. sell-restrictions.
maybe you should learn french
edit: did you know that manhunt 1 inspired an 14-year old boy in the UK to kill a 17-year old? february 2004...
Again, we have been over this argument, and blaming a game for making you do something is like blaming mcdonalds for making you fat.
i thought my source would be relieable -.-
