THQ Nordic Shows Off New Titan Quest II Gameplay Trailer

On June 7th, Titan Quest II made its grand appearance at the Future Games Show: Summer Showcase 2025! Our Lead Systems Designer, Balint Marczin, took the stage to give an overview of Titan Quest II - what to expect, what sets it apart, and why fans should be excited - while the audience had the chance to watch some brand-new gameplay in action.

This brand-new gameplay is featured in the deep dive video, showcasing a flurry of combat skills and their powerful modifiers - giving fans a fresh look at what's in store. You can catch the full video here:

And once again: no microtransactions. Ever. We're sticking to our swords, Titan Quest II will not feature any microtransactions. Instead, we're committing to meaningful, traditional DLC content after Early Access, once the full version of the game is released.

Forged in the creative crucible of Grimlore Games in Germany, Titan Quest II is currently in development. Early Access hits PC first this summer, with the full 1.0 release coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

So here’s this giant enemy crab…

Jokes aside, we’ll see. I wasn’t too impressed with what I have seen from the early beta previews, but Grimlore is a solid studio and I do have faith that they took all the feedback seriously.

Im looking forward to it but its little things that annoy me, like...you guys see how that big boar on 1:36 acts? how its animated and how it floats on the sloped area because they never animated that correctly, its always animated on a horizontal plane?

that sorta stuff just bugs me.

I hope this one becomes a hit, and more resembles the Diablo 2 feeling and mechanics. No microtansactions, and seems to have more zoomed out camera, which is promising.

Hoping it crops up on GoG. I really liked the original game and even enjoyed Immortal Throne (never got into the other expansions, I think they came out too late for me since I didn't discover them until sometime after Grim Dawn was out so going back to Titan Quest felt really slow and I'd say even a bit boring). I'd like to play it, but I won't get it if it doesn't come out on GoG.

from the developer of TQ2 on being GoG

Yes, thats the plan for all THQN releases unless there are specific reasons like a very complex online setup.

The sequel to TQ being made by "Grim Lore" when the folks from "Iron Lore" went on to make "Grim Dawn" seems remarkably coincidental...

It sounds like they're not doing anything different with it, given they cited the same mastery system from TQ/GD as a stand-out feature. Not that that's necessary a bad thing, but I feel like ARPGs are one of the genres most in need of some zhuzhing up...

Hope this game does well. I played the original a LOT. On the orig, you had to play the entire game and complete it, then you can RE-PLAY at the next higher difficulty, and encounter
the tougher monsters...such as the giant steam robot, and the Manticore in one of the underground areas. Wondering if this will be the case here. Playing the "original" enhanced Neverwinter Nights AGAIN right now.
Grim Dawn just about wore out my clicker fingers. Never did get a successful character build in that one.

I have noticed some folks don't want to pick up Steam games. Could you explain why? Not trying to be funny, just wondering.

I'm currently replaying through the non-enhanced Neverwinter Nights right now. Just got out of Neverwinter and into chapter 2. As for Grim Dawn - you can't really go too wrong with builds. Most builds you can get through Elite difficulty without much of a problem and at least a good chunk of the way into Ultimate difficulty. I usually play some sort of ranged build in the game, the most unique one was probably a dual pistol poison build, made it through Elite with it, but it certainly isn't viable enough to clear Ultimate, at least not without some top-notch equipment that I'd have to endless grind for and I'm not doing that.

When it comes to games I don't want to rent them and that's all that Steam and most other digital platforms are, rental platforms. GoG I can download the install files to my side, install them while offline (if I so wish to) and not require some kind of DRM to run the game. I haven't paid Valve a single cent for 6 or so years now. I might have kept using Valve/Steam had they not really screwed up the UI with Steam back in 2019 - they broke so many things and it took them months and months to fix them that it was the final straw that broke the camel's back for me. GoG is simpler, it's not intrusive and I don't even need to use their Galaxy platform for games if I don't want to. I still utilize Steam for the VOIP when I game with my brother and he still uses Steam as his main gaming platform - he still gifts me games on there as well, but I won't purchase anything from them again nor purchase keys to Steam from other places such as Humble Bundle, Fanatical and so on.

that makes sense, thanks for the response! I do miss having my games on disc where I can actually OWN the hardcopy. I don't miss the 3.5 floppies though...Had a bunch of them for Aces of the Pacific :)
