Sony Denies PS3 pricecut; Circuit City may still Offer discount
Yesterday, we pointed out that Circuit City might be planning to cut the PS3 price by $100 USD. Unfortunately, if this price cut actually happens, it's only temporary. The president of Sony Corporate Entertainment America (SCEA) has formally/officially announced that Sony plans no world-wide price cut of this sort. While Sony was considering a price cut to help bolster sales, which developers have been calling for for quite some time, Sony is stone-walled on this issue.
The Circuit City advertisement may yet be legitimate. We'll keep you posted as to whether or not the PS3 will really be $500 USD on the week of July 15th at Circuit City.

Circuit city is the worst store, they have a very low stock, and a shitty return policy.
Lets say you got a gift, opened it, dont like it...return it and play 15% restocking fee...gay. :shadedshu
$400 now or $500 tomorrow? ;)
I got my wii and mii, thats all I need. :)
Sony needs to cut these damn prices. lol
I am currently an employee at circuit city, and I can tell you as a fact that they will DEFINITELY be dropping the prices. Furthermore, it won't be on a limited stock, it applies to all of our PS3's (At my store we have about 15-20). On top of that, if you buy a PS3, the Blue-Ray foundation is offering a promo on all machines that have the players 5 free Blue-Ray titles after rebates. Think about it. Get $100 bucks off the console, and then $125 in free HD Movies.
I just watched fox news(not that fox news is good lolz) say sony's dropping prices and packing a game with it, and bumping up the hdd sizes.
