Vista Service Pack One Enters Testing

Things are still a little cloudy, so take this with a pinch of salt, but a number of Microsoft's software testers claim to have received an early version of the first service pack for Windows Vista. Apparently a few testers have given ZDNet a tipoff, although each tester has come forward with a different build number, which suggests that Microsoft could even be using them to track down anyone who gives away information about new features, but it's equally possible each tester is just running a different build. The screenshots below are from WinBeta and supposedly show a version of Vista with the service pack installed, although there is still very little which will be of interest to most people. The private beta had been rumoured for mid-July, with a public beta following soon afterwards and a final version coming as soon as November this year, although Microsoft has not given any official confirmation of this. Hopefully more information will become available soon, but it looks like the first service pack could be here soon.

Vista doesnt need "service packs". Microsoft has said that many times before, but no one will listen and keep hyping it up. If they do release one it will just be so people who say "I'm waiting till SP1 to get vista" will finally get vista.

And why doesnt Vista need a service pack? Looks like Microsoft thinks so.

No one expects a product to be completely bug free when it rolls out, least of all an OS.

Compatability is one issue they are seeing with Vista, many will neverupgrade due to software incompatability. We have that issue here.

Not a problem with my vista... altho why dont they just use the new windows update service that seems to do what it says on the tin quite nicely.

Then again there are the peeps saying "i wont upgrade until it gets SP1" which to me is nonsense.

Ive come tot the conclusion that possibly my *Errors (- the razor software) is due to ram incompatibility with my mobo.. in my bios it says "ddr2 Fail!" my mobo need a bios update to run micron memory better.. its working but it dont fully like it guess I'll finally get around to putting my ocz gold stick back in for a couple days lol.. see if the problem persists.

Im guessing folks saying that about waiting on SP1 is for the current annoyances/problems to be sorted out. I dont think there is anything wrong with it.
