Sony Reveals Official Extended Battery Pack Kit

The PSP Extended Life Battery Kit will work on both the old and new PSP-1000 and PSP-2000 models. This 2200mAh battery will offer 20% more battery life on the older models, and 80% more life on the new slim line. This battery will bulge out slightly on the slimmer PSP systems, so new battery covers will be included. However, those with Star Wars Ceramic White systems are out of luck: doesn't appear a new battery cover is being made for that particular model. The peripheral will be available in mid-December for a MSRP of $44.99.

I own a fatty PSP and have no interest in this battery. Sony is trying to get people to pay for the inherent flaw in the system because of the screen, audio, and UMD drive.

Nope i'm happy plugging my PSP into my nuclear reactor. That way my battery never dies. :nutkick:

Well heck im surprised to see the price as low as it is.

Does anyone else remember the add on for ther PSP that was released a couple years ago that worked as both an extra memory unit as well as extra battery life? That was really REALLY REALLY EXPENSIVE

yes I do infact I had a mate who tried to 'hack' sonys PSP HDD compatibility so he could use larger & different hard drives with his PSP instead of the ones that sony sold. I dunno how far he got with it tho. I dont think he got very far as he never said a word to any1 else about it - he was a bit full of himself anyway.......

does anybody have the charts or data on how much profit Sony have made from the new slim PSPs?? Id be intersted to find out if they are seling any better then the bog standard PSP.

IMHO they should just stop production of the PSP or at least make some new firmware for it or something where it can be a lot more useful in daily life rather then having to live with is crap selection of games....

All i really ever use my psp for is music when im having a shower, the occasional anime series I personally encoded for PSP & hunting for wi-fi otherwise each time I pick it up i always have to wipe or blow the dust off it
