Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 EOL

This first quarter of 2008 will see more than 3 video cards from NVIDIA being EOL forever. The end of this month Intel will mark the death of the Conroe-based Core 2 Extreme X6800, Core 2 Duo E6300, E6600, E6700, E6320 and E6420 processors. In March Intel will also cut the lines of the Core 2 Duo E4400 CPU.

Cool, so some cheap Core2Duo CPUs could be available soon (ie the end of the line models)

At least Intel are moving forward and not trying to flog out of date CPUs like that other company! (*cough* AMD *cough*)

Crazy 4 TPU!!!
I hope i can use the new chips on my Evga 680i motherboard. I like my E4400, just hope they bring our better CPUs that are 65nm. I am soon going to upgrade my mobo anyway,to maybe a 780i but that will be in about a year or so.

That was a short run for a majority of those cpus (except for maybe the X6800) I was expecting them to go on a little bit longer.

There are already cheaper replacements for them, so why keep them around. That being said E6600 & E6700 are nice because of their FSB, but E6550 & E6750 are so much cheaper.
