Kingston Adds T1 Heatspreaders to Popular HyperX 1600MHz 6 GB Triple-Channel Kits

Kingston today alerted that it is now shipping its HyperX 1600 MHz triple-channel kits with the high-profile T1 heatspreaders. Recently introduced, the patented blue T1 heatspreaders not only transfer more heat thanks to a special aluminum design, but also make the memory modules look very cool and unique. The new 1600 MHz kit (part number: KHX12800D3T1K3/6GX) is available now in 6 GB capacity for $155.00 (U.S. MSRP). Its full specs list 1.65V operating voltage and CL9-9-9-27 latencies. Standard for all high-performance Kingston HyperX modules, this memory kit also comes with a lifetime warranty.

I like my kingston 1066 set, but I'm wondering aren't those voltages a bit high? I thought the x58 boards wouldn't allow the ram to go above 1.56v, so that would mean those are capped out.

1.65V is the "max" for anyone with their processor at stock voltages. As long as your QPI < DRAM voltage by at least .5V (I am comfortable with .4V) then you will not damage your processor with voltages above 1.65V

I love their heatsinks and their color. Too bad more companies don't use them.
