The FirePro V8700 Duo was a professional graphics card by ATI, that was never released. Built on the 55 nm process, and based on the RV770 graphics processor, in its RV770 XT variant, the card supports DirectX 10.1. Since FirePro V8700 Duo does not support DirectX 11 or DirectX 12, it might not be able to run all the latest games. The RV770 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 256 mm² and 956 million transistors. FirePro V8700 Duo combines two graphics processors to increase performance. It features 800 shading units, 40 texture mapping units, and 16 ROPs, per GPU. ATI has paired 2,048 MB GDDR5 memory with the FirePro V8700 Duo, which are connected using a 256-bit memory interface per GPU (each GPU manages 1,024 MB). The GPU is operating at a frequency of 750 MHz, memory is running at 850 MHz (3.4 Gbps effective). Being a dual-slot card, the ATI FirePro V8700 Duo draws power from 2x 6-pin power connectors, with power draw rated at 151 W maximum. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. FirePro V8700 Duo is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 interface. The card measures 254 mm in length, 111 mm in width, and features a dual-slot cooling solution.
