Thermal Solutions specialist GELID Solutions unveils its multi-compatible CPU Cooler "Tranquillo" of its SILENT product line. The mainstream tower CPU Cooler "Tranquillo" uses 4 power heat pipes and a special heat pipe constellation to achieve best heat transfer from CPU core to the aluminium fins in its class. After precise software simulation and calculation during the development stage a unique heat sink shape was created to lower air flow resistance as much as possible.

Noctua today officially presented its long-awaited NH-D14 premium CPU cooler. Combining a massive six heatpipe dual radiator design with an exquisite NF-P14/NF-P12 dual fan configuration, the NH-D14 is built to further improve the renowned quiet cooling performance of Noctua's award-winning NH-U12P series.

"Our NH-U12P coolers are widely regarded as one of the best solutions on the market, so it makes us especially proud that we can offer a further substantial improvement in quiet cooling performance with the new NH-D14", explains Mag. RAM cooling is crucial for maintaining high clock rates as well as to avoid any damages caused by overheat. In order to offer an efficient tool to lower RAM temperature, the Swiss IT cooling solution provider ARCTIC COOLING today launched the new ARCTIC RC PRO, an advanced RAM cooler designed for DDR2 and DDR3 SDRAM modules.

Following the design concept of the award-winning ARCTIC RC, this Pro version also features long aluminium fins as well as highly conductive thermal pads. The fins are extended to 5cm which lead to a significant increase in heat transfer area and optimized natural convection.

Sharkoon introduces two all new high-performance, and quiet, Tower-coolers for the AMD- and Intel-processors. The Sharkoon Silent Eagle CPU cooler options are the Model C92 with a 92mm fan and Model C120 with a 120mm fan. Both provide four U-equalizing 8mm cooling heat pipes and premium aluminium fins for efficient heat dissipation. This is further strengthened by the Direct-Touch-Technology: The heat pipes rest directly on the processor, so that the heat is released directly without having to detour through an extra plate to the cooling fans.

Sharkoon's popular Silent Eagle models utilize an innovative Golf ball surface texture application. The round dimples on the rotor blades minimize air turbulence and provides a boost in air output at the same rotational speed and noise emission. The fans are equipped with a 4-pin PMW connector to automatically regulate over the provided mainboard. The 92mm fan of the C92 model rotates between 350 to 1600 r/min, with a maximum sound volume of 24,8 dB(A) and motion air flow up to 72,9 m³/h. The heat sink, including fan, measures 120 x 92 x 77 mm (H x W x D) and weighs 550 g. The 120mm fan of the larger C120 model rotates between 359 to 1200 r/min and conveys a sound volume under full load of 20 dB(A) with a motion air flow of 83 m³/h. The C120 measures 157 x 125 x 86 (H x W x D) and weighs 755 g.

Close to an year after Danamics released its so-perceived revolutionary LM10 liquid-metal CPU cooler, which was shelved a mere two months after its launch, the company is back with its successor. The new Danamics LMX looks bigger, meaner, and more compatible. The principle involves circulating liquid metal through heatpipes in an aluminum fin array. The liquid metal is circulated using an electromagnetic pump, though the unit has a shielded magnetic field that does not interfere with components outside it. The flowing liquid metal disperses heat to parts of the cooler better, resulting in higher cooling performance compared to other forms of air-cooling.

The unit measures 158.2×170.5×90 mm, weighing 1180 g. The heatsink fins are made of nickel-plated aluminum. Two 120 mm fans strapped on to either sides, are made by SilenX. This completely monolithic cooler has snap-on assembly, meaning it's as easy to install as almost any other air-cooler. It supports Intel sockets LGA-1366, LGA-775, and AMD AM3/AM2(+). Scythe extends its product portfolio by adding a new CPU Cooler for the entry level market. Samurai ZZ (Model No. SCSMZ-2000) is a top-flow CPU Cooler weighing 16.6 oz, respectively 495 g (incl. Fan), and it is equipped with 3 u-shaped Copper-Heatpipes as well as a 92 mm Fan. Supplied fan is supports the PWM-Feature which allows the fan speed being controlled in a range from 300 up to 2,500 rpm. The fan can generate airflow of 12 up to 95 m³/h, respectively 6.7 up to 55.55 CFM at a noise level between 7.2 and 31.07 dBA.

Samurai ZZ CPU Cooler is specified for cooling of CPUs with a TDP (Thermal Design Power) of up to 130 W, and it is compatible to Intel socket 478, T / LGA775, LGA1156, LGA1366 as well as AMD socket 754, 939, AM2(+), AM3, 940. Traditionally, a specialists in aluminum/copper fin 'ring' type CPU coolers, Zalman maintained a performance leadership till aluminum fin tower type CPU coolers took over as the better performing design. Zalman was forced to keep up with the trend, which it did with the introduction of its CNPS-10X series coolers, namely CNPS-10X Quiet, and CNPS-10X Extreme. The third one in the series, which Zalman recently made available to European stores, is the CNPS-10X Flex. This is basically a tower-type heatsink that uses a block of 56 aluminum fins (some of which are anodized black), to which heat is conveyed by five copper heat-pipes. While it does not include a fan of its own, it gives you the flexibility of using your own 120 mm fan, and allows for two fans in all. The retention module supplied supports all current CPU sockets, including LGA-1366, LGA-1156, LGA-775, and AM3/AM2+/AM2. Priced at €40, it is €10 cheaper than the CNPS-10X Quiet, enough price difference to allow you to buy a decent-quality 120 mm fan of your choice, be it performance-oriented, or quiet.

Thermaltake, leading DIY thermal solutions brand, launches a multi-socket support budget CPU cooler, the Contac 29. The Thermaltake Contac29 offers excellent cooling performance and a formidable price point when compared with the current competition on the market. Its Direct Contact Technology allows the three 8 mm heatpipes to immediately touch the CPU and thereby maximize the cooling effect. The multi-socket support offers excellent compatibility and flexibility in the choice and upgrade of your processor. It supports all major Intel sockets such as the LGA1156, LGA1366 and older LGA775 models. As for AMD, sockets AM3, AM2+ and AM2 are supported.

The three u-shaped heatpipes transfer processor heat up into the aluminum heatsink fins. In a second step the preinstalled 120 mm PWM fan blows air over the layered fins to further increase cooling efficiency, while the specially curved fins prevent outside heat to intrude the dissipation area.

The Swiss low noise cooling solution provider ARCTIC COOLING today announced the launch of their first notebook cooler - ARCTIC NC. Its revolutionary design concept and user-friendly functions make it a stylish portable cooler for laptop users.

The ARCTIC NC is a perfect cooling device for any laptops between 12" and 19". The two 60mm fans draw adequate cool air in and wind is blown out from the vent evenly to the bottom of the laptop. Unlike other plate-design coolers, heat can be dissipated from the sides of the laptop easily to achieve maximum cooling performance. Moreover, fan noise of the ARCTIC NC is undetectable at only 0.1 sone - even at full speed. The ARCTIC NC keeps the laptop at safe temperatures and quiet at all time - even during heavy gaming.

Korean cooling specialist Zalman rolled out its first memory area cooler called the ZM-RC1000. Like similar products from popular memory vendors such as Corsair, Kingston, and A-Data to name a few, the cooler latches on to the motherboard's long DRAM slots and blows air onto the installed memory modules with its two 60 mm fans. The cooler measures 66 (L) x 155 (W) x 70 (H) mm, weighing 160 g. The retention mechanism has anti-vibration grips to dampen noise, and its thumb-screws make it tool-free. The fans spin at 2700 rpm with a maximum noise output of 25 ± 2.5 dBA. It comes with two panel colours: silver and blue. An early listing by a European store prices it at 16.30 EUR.

A new mainstream platform from Intel with socket LGA1156 will be released soon, and it has been already featured in medias which increases the demand for compatible CPU Coolers. Scythe did some preliminary work and most of its on-market CPU Coolers are compatible not only to the socket LGA1366 but upcoming LGA1156 as well. This was realized by developing a flexible mounting clip (patent pending) which allows mounting the CPU Cooler on socket LGA775, LGA1366 and LGA1156 by using just one clip. Users have just to slide the Push-Pins to the corresponding hole depending on socket and then just attach the CPU Cooler.

Consequently, users can therefore choose among Zipang 2, Kabuto, Kama Angle Rev. B, Ninja 2 Rev. B, Ninja Mini Rev. B, Katana 3, BIG Shuriken, and Shuriken Rev. B CPU Cooler already available in the worldwide market. Mugen 2 CPU Cooler is schedule to be compatible to socket LGA1156 but will be as "Revision B" version with completely re-worked mounting clips by middle of November 2009.

Thermalright is getting ready to release new and improved version of T-Rad 2, under the name T-Rad 2 GTX. The overall cooler dimensions are L228 x W140 x H25 mm and its weight is just over 360 gram, there are six nickel-plated heatpipes and a cooling surface that gives the option to install two 92 mm fans or a big 120 mm fan. The T-Rad 2 GTX is compatible with NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS (G92), 8800 GT, 9800 GTX, GTS 250, GTX 280, and AMD Radeon HD 2600, HD 2900, HD 3870, HD 4850, HD 4890 cards, where the older version was compatible only with NVIDIA 9800/8800 series and ATI HD3850/3870/4850/4870 cards. With the cooler Thermalright supplies the Chill Factor thermal compound. Optional accessories which include TR-FDB fans and a dual heatpipe cooling for ATI Radeon HD4870/4890 VRM area are also available from Thermalright. The cooler's pricing is not yet confirmed, but it might be priced at around 40 Euro.

Xigmatek has a small, but packed booth. They are displaying their first chassis, the Midgard. It is intended to compete with other mainstream enclosures like the Cooler Master 690. It comes packed with plenty of fans, a painted interior and great expandability. Then there are the new mainstream power supplies aimed to give you the best bang for your buck. They come in 400 and 500 W, but Xigmatek will extend the range in the future.

We stopped by the Noctua and Coolink booth as well and they had a few little surprises in store for us. The austrian firm is showing off their 140 and 120 mm PWM fans for the first time. They mentioned quite some time ago, that such a unit is in planning and behold the sight of the new unit. It comes with the same mounting holes as a 120 mm unit, due to the round frame. The cooler is optimized for air pressure and the use for CPU coolers. Using this unit, Noctua will be offering the C12P as well as their newest addition - the NH-D14 with the 140 mm fan. Noctua will also be offering an upgrade kit for those who wish to replace their current 120 mm fans with the newest unit.

There are a few new CPU coolers on display at the Glacialtech booth here at Computex. The first is the F101, which comes with a 120 mm fan. It has a unique shape, as part of the cooler hovers over the chipset. Then you have the mainstream coolers, with prices starting at around 25 US Dollars. These should be great alternatives to the boxed CPU coolers. They are also presenting a new fans, with the aim to deliver silent performance - simply called "the silent blade" series with the companies own fan blade design.

The Cyclone coolers are large CPU coolers with special fans to create a cyclone air flow to cool the fins and heatpipes. It comes in a full size variant as well as a compact version. They have also improved on the Ultra 120 by revising the surface area of the cooler and adding a hole within the fins to further aid air flow.

Thermal Solutions specialist GELID Solutions adds a 28mm high 1U Slim ITX heatpipe CPU Cooler with PWM fan to its popular line of Silent CPU coolers.

With a compact heatsink design for Mini ITX, Micro ATX, ATX, HTPC, Panel PC, Car PC and 1U server the "Slim Silence" is equipped with a high performance heatpipe and a silent fan. The high performance heatpipe ensures a fast and efficient heat transfer from core to aluminium fins. The frameless silent fan includes a ball bearing and a GELID intelligent PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) control which ensures a silent operation at low CPU temperature and accelerates the fan speed when necessary.

Akasa is readying a new graphics card cooler for the consumer segment, this time touting support for almost all current single-GPU graphics cards. The Akasa Freedom Force was first pictured at the CeBIT event. It measures 190(L) x 107.5(W) x 55(H), and weighs in at 440 g. Its design consists of a GPU contact block that doubles up as a heatsink, from which four aluminum heatpipes convey heat to two aluminum fin blocks on either side of the GPU block. Each block is subject to air-flow by its own white LED-lit fan that spins at 2200 rpm. The GPU block has mount holes for 43.2 mm, 53.2 mm, and 61.5 mm cooler mounts. Also bundled are nine memory chip heatsinks. The cooler supports one of the broadest range of GPUs, including NVIDIA GeForce GTX 200 (GTX 260, 275, 280, 285), ATI Radeon HD 4000/3000/2000, GeForce 9/8/7 series, etc. A word of caution however, would be that the cooler doesn't pack VRM heatsinks, or heatsinks for NVIO display processors featured on G200(b) and G80 based graphics cards. It will reach retail in about a month's time, and is expected to be priced at 30 EUR (US $40.5).

Lian-Li Industrial Co. Ltd has launched the NC-09 Notebook cooler pad. The brushed all aluminum black anodized structure has a huge 220mm 5V silent DC Fan with a blue LED and a large steel mesh which allows extra air-flow under the notebook. The Notebook Cooler has dual USB connectors with one mini USB power connector which can accept either a notebook power source, or a Universal 5V USB Cellphone charger. In addition there is a on/off switch to facilitate ease of use. The mini USB provides power to the fan and other USB connectors (Fan uses 300MA only).

The NC-09 cooler has a three level height adjustment, or alternatively the smooth base panel can conveniently be placed on a flat sur face or on one's lap. The NC-09 is perfect for High End notebooks, since Aluminum is four times more effective than steel to transfer and dissipate heat. The NC-09 has been designed for 12.1"/14"/15"/17" notebooks. Japanese PC cooling specialist Scythe has a new CPU cooler up its shelves: Zipang 2. The cooler-design comes across as an evolution of that of Scythe Kabuto, and consists of a base that doubles up as a heatsink. From here, arise six 6 mm copper heatpipes, that convey heat to six blocks of aluminum fins. It measures 145x149x106 mm, and weighs 715 g (around 1.57 lbs). The 140 mm fan spins at around 1000 rpm, and pushes 51.43 CFM of air, with a noise output of 22.74 dBA. The cooler supports all current sockets from Intel and AMD, including Intel LGA-1366, and AMD AM2/AM2+/AM3. Its pricing and availability are yet to be disclosed.

A seemingly new gun in the PC cooling town is Cogage. The company sources its produce from Thermalright, a company well-known for its CPU coolers. Taking its name from the Thermalright Ultra Edition (popularly abbreviated as TRUE), the company has readied the True Spirit cooler, which even ends up looking like the cooler it's trying to impersonate. This cooler is built exclusively for Intel LGA-1366 socket processors. It measures 133x156x38 mm, and weighs 670 g (1.47 lbs). It packs four copper heatpipes that convey heat to 48 aluminum fins. Active ventilation is care of a 120 mm fan that rotates in speeds between 1000 and 1500 rpm, with rated noise levels of 19.6 to 37.4 dbA.

The other cooler in the works, MST-140, sports a design where the a fan of similar specifications as the one bundled with the True Spirit, blows air perpendicular to the plane of the motherboard, rather than parallel. This cooler supports both LGA-775 and LGA-1366 sockets. It measures 144x147x70.2 mm and weighs 410 g (0.9 lbs). From its base, arise four "U"-shaped heatpipes that convey heat to two dense aluminum fin arrays (40 fins each). The pricing and release dates of these coolers are yet to be known.

Towards the end of March, we caught a glimpse of a yet to be named high-end custom-designed Radeon HD 4890 accelerator from ASUS. The accelerator makes use of an exotic VRM design to facilitate high clock speeds and overclocking potential. Back then, we couldn't get pictures of what cooled the beast. Thankfully, NordicHardware has a few pictures of the cooler, along with more details in place.
