ASRock rolled out the Q1900DC-ITX, a low-power computing motherboard based on Intel Celeron J1900 "Bay Trail" SoC. The chip embeds a quad-core x86-64 CPU clocked at 2.00 GHz, with Turbo Boost speeds of up to 2.42 GHz. The board is designed to draw power from an external power brick, over 2-pin DC-in. It uses a chunky fan-less heatsink to cool the SoC, which is wired to two DDR3L SO-DIMM slots. Expansion includes one PCI-Express 2.0 x1, and an mPCIe. Storage connectivity doesn't let down, and includes two each of SATA 6 Gb/s and SATA 3 Gb/s. The board offers legacy connectivity such as LPT and COM over headers. Display outputs include DVI, HDMI, and D-Sub. 8-channel HD audio, gigabit Ethernet, two each of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0/1.1, and PS/2 mouse/keyboard connectors make for the rest of it.

SilverStone launched the Milo ML07 slim mini-ITX chassis, with room for conventional (full-height, double-slot) graphics cards. Measuring 382 mm x 350 mm x 105 mm (WxDxH), it weighs about 3.71 kg. The ML07 chassis may look like something to build a media PC around, but it can actually hold gaming-grade hardware. The case features two add-on slots bays along the plane of the motherboard tray, featuring a PCI-Express x16 riser. There's enough room for full-height, double-slot graphics cards as long as 330 mm. That's enough to squeeze in a GeForce GTX TITAN Black (which is 266 mm long), all that's left would be finding a PSU in the SFX form-factor, which can safely power it. The motherboard tray seats conventional mini-ITX boards. Its storage area includes room for a slot-loading slimline optical drive, a 3.5-inch internal bay, and three 2.5-inch internal bays. Ventilation includes a 120 mm vent over the motherboard tray, and two 120 mm vents at the bottom, which should let you squeeze in a 240 mm x 120 mm radiator. Front connectivity includes two USB 3.0 ports (standard header), and HDA front-panel jacks.

BIOSTAR has announced the J1900NH2 motherboard with the on-board Intel Dual-Core Celeron J1900 processor in a mini ITX form factor for flexible use. The J1900NH2 boards come with the Intel Celeron J1900 Dual-Core processor already installed and it supports two DDR3L 1333/1066 MHz memory slots for a maximum of 16 GB of memory. It features an integrated graphics chip with enough performance for most home and office applications.

The J1900NH2 board is ready for building a universal multimedia system due to its HDMI and analog VGA-out, and high definition audio with the Realtek ALC662 5.1 Channel HD Audio chip. LAN networking is covered by the Realtek RTL8111G - 10/100/1000 controller and being a BIOSTAR board it has the Smart Speed LAN feature. For storage there are 2 SATA2 connectors and USB is well rounded with 1 USB 3.0 port and 4 USB 2.0 ports.

Here's the first picture of a market-ready version of ASUS' Z97 Deluxe motherboard, from the company's mainline computer brand. ASUS seems to have received screaming feedback from some quarters that bright gold isn't the best choice heatsink color, and if Z97 Deluxe is anything to go by, we might see a softer champagne tone of gold, with a more minimalist heatsink design. The Z97 Deluxe is packed to the brim with features, beginning with a 16-phase CPU VRM. The LGA1150 socket is wired to four DDR3 DIMM slots, and three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots. Storage connectivity appears to include six SATA 6 Gb/s, one SATA-Express, one M.2, and possibly one or more eSATA. Other connectivity includes 8-channel HD audio with ground-layer isolation, dual gigabit-Ethernet interfaces, WLAN, and a large number of USB 3.0 ports. We also scored a teaser pic of the flagship mini-ITX motherboard from ASUS based on the Z97 chipset, likely named the Z97-I Deluxe. It should give you a closer look of the chipset heatsink design.

These series use the latest Intel H81 chipset, and support the 4th Generation Intel Core processors with high performance and integrated GPU providing powerful graphics processing.

Furthermore, the MSI ProBox23 is equipped with a thin mini-itx motherboard and energy efficient CPU cooler. With a length and width of only 20cm and a height of just 5cm, this barebone PC is one of the smallest in its kind. Moreover, the MSI ProBox23 can easily be mounted behind a monitor, making it the best space-saving solution for commercial and entertainment applications. MSI announced the ProBox line of compact desktop barebones, the first of which is the ProBox23. Its chassis, which measures 202 mm x 204 mm x 54.8 mm (WxDxH), includes a slim mini-ITX motherboard based on the Intel H81 Express chipset, supporting LGA1150 processors (TDP of up to 65W), room for up to two DDR3 SO-DIMM slots, two 2.5-inch SATA drives, and an mSATA slot. A half-height mPCIe x1 slot is also featured, so you can drop in your own wireless communications card. The unit draws power from an external power brick. Connectivity includes stereo HD audio, gigabit Ethernet, two USB 3.0 ports, six USB 2.0 ports (two on the rear panel, four on the front), eSATA 3 Gb/s, and HDMI display output.

After debuting in the CPU cooler scene with a bang, Cryorig is reading its first low-profile product for the ITX and SFF desktop markets, the C1 ITX. This top-flow cooler uses an aluminium fin-stack design, in which heat drawn from the base is conveyed to the stack using four nickel-plated copper heat pipes. The stack is larger than it looks, although we don't have the exact dimensions at hand, and is ventilated by a 140 mm XT140 PWM spinner. The cooler will support most modern CPU socket types, from both Intel and AMD. Cryorig is currently testing the C1 ITX, and hopes to ship it out by May.

Gigabyte announced the B85N-Phoenix, a socket LGA1150 motherboard based on the Intel B85 chipset, and in the mini-ITX form-factor. The board is unusually rich in connectivity, despite its precious little PCB real-estate. It features an equally unusual black+orange color scheme that's more commonly found with the company's OC-series motherboards. It draws power from a combination of 24-pin ATX and 4-pin CPU power connectors, and conditions it using a 4+2 phase VRM. The CPU socket is wired to a pair of DDR3 DIMM slots, supporting up to 32 GB of dual-channel memory; and a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot. It's neighbored to the north by an mPCIe 2.0 slot, wired to the B85 PCH.

Storage connectivity on the B85N-Phoenix includes three SATA 6 Gb/s, and a single SATA 3 Gb/s. The board features a total of four USB 3.0 ports, two on the rear panel, two by header. Display outputs include dual-link DVI and HDMI. The board comes prepped for wireless communications, but doesn't include a card. There are holes for two antennae, and an mPCIe slot. The board offers 8-channel HD audio with optical TOSLINK output. Gigabit Ethernet, PS/2, and a number of USB 2.0/1.1 ports make for the rest of it. Gigabyte didn't announce pricing.

ASUS announced the J1800I-C, a completely fan-less motherboard based on Intel's "Bay Trail" low-power platform, running a Celeron J1800 SoC. The J1800 integrates a dual-core 64-bit x86 CPU clocked at 2.40 GHz, with Turbo Boost frequencies as high as 2.58 GHz. Built in the mini-ITX form-factor, the board features a chunky aluminium heatsink cooling the SoC. The board draws power from 24-pin ATX connector, and a 4-pin CPU connector.

ASUS productively utilized the scarce real-estate of the mini-ITX PCB - a sizable portion of which is consumed by the heatsink - providing two DDR3 SO-DIMM slots, a conventional PCIe x1, an mPCIe with mSATA pins, two conventional SATA 3 Gb/s ports, and a healthy mix of modern and legacy connectivity, that includes headers for LPT, an RS-232 COM at the rear panel, a mixed-mode PS/2 port, one USB 3.0 SuperSpeed port, a number of USB 2.0/1.1 ports, gigabit Ethernet, HDMI, D-Sub, and 6-channel HD audio. The board is driven by AMI UEFI BIOS.

MSI announced its first socket AM1 motherboard, the AM1I. Built in the mini-ITX form-factor, the board draws power from a combination of 24-pin ATX and 4-pin CPU power connectors. The socket is wired to two DDR3 DIMM slots, supporting up to 16 GB of DDR3-1600 MHz memory; a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slot, and an mPCIe slot. Connectivity includes two SATA 6 Gb/s ports, two USB 3.0 ports, 6-channel HD audio, gigabit Ethernet, display outputs that include HDMI, DVI, and D-Sub, and legacy PS/2. MSI didn't reveal pricing or availability information.

Joining Biostar with its Celeron J1800-based motherboard is Gigabyte, with the J1800N-D2H. The SoC features a dual-core 64-bit x86 CPU clocked up to 2.53 GHz, wired to a pair of DDR3 SO-DIMM slots, a PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slot, and a mini PCI-Express card slot. Display connectivity includes HDMI and D-Sub. Two SATA 3 Gb/s ports, a USB 3.0 port, four USB 2.0 ports, gigabit Ethernet, and PS/2 mouse/keyboard ports make for the rest of the connectivity. Gigabyte didn't reveal pricing details.

Biostar rolled out its first motherboard based on the low-power Celeron J1800 SoC, the J1800NH. This mini-ITX motherboard offers enough power to run basic desktops. The Celeron J1800 tucks in a dual-core x86-64 CPU clocked at 2.40 GHz, featuring Turbo Boost, that spools it up to 2.53 GHz. The board features a single DDR3 SO-DIMM slot, and a PCI-Express 2.0 x1 is its sole expansion slot. Storage connectivity includes two SATA 3 Gb/s ports. A USB 3.0 port, four USB 2.0 ports, HDMI and D-Sub display outputs, stereo HD audio, and gigabit Ethernet make for the rest of its connectivity. Biostar didn't announce pricing.

SilverStone rolled out the Sugo SG08-LITE cube-type mini-ITX case. Featuring the same dimensions as the original Sugo SG08, its Lite variant features a slimline, slot-in optical drive bay. It measures 222 mm x 351 mm x 190 mm (WxDxH), featuring a 10 mm-thick brushed aluminium facade. Its motherboard tray offers room of up to 31 cm long graphics cards.

A 180 mm fan vent is located dead above the motherboard tray, covering its whole board area. This can be used to latch on a large fan, or even a moderately slim single-fan radiator. In addition to the slimline optical drive bay, it offers room for either one 3.5-inch drive, or two 2.5-inch ones. Below the drive cage is a PSU bay with room for a standard ATX PSU, provided it's under 160 mm long. A rear AC receptacle and cable relay AC power to the PSU bay. Front panel connectivity includes two USB 3.0 ports, and HDA front-panel jacks. SilverStone didn't reveal pricing or availability information.

Cube-shaped micro-ATX cases tend to all look the same - often black cubical monoliths, DeepCool's latest creation, the Steam Castle, was unmistakable. Its two heatsink-like front pillars, and four top fan vents, give it a steampunk character, which you'll either love or hate. The vents push out heat from the bottom-oriented motherboard tray, which apparently has enough room for tall (30-ish centimeter) graphics cards, and tall CPU coolers (an NH-D14 should fit comfortably). There appears to be room for a standard ATX PSU, and four 3.5-inch / 2.5-inch drive bays. The case features an integrated fan controller for its top four fans, its front-panel connectivity includes two each of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0/1.1 ports, next to HDA front-panel audio jacks. The case will be branded under DeepCool's GamerStorm series.

Lian-Li Industrial Co. Ltd, today announces a new brushed aluminum Mini-ITX chassis - PC-Q33 - with a flip-open design and space-efficient hardware support. The PC-Q33 provides plenty of working space for DIY builders. Builders can swing open the top and front panel of this brushed aluminum chassis providing easy access to the internal components.

At 18L, the PC-Q33 supports a tremendous amount of hardware for its size. Taking advantage of every available space Lian Li's latest brushed aluminum chassis accommodates CPU coolers up to 180mm (7.0") in height and ATX power supplies up to 200mm in length. The latest powerful low-profile graphics cards up to 220mm (8.6") easily fit inside the chassis.

Alkeron Hardware announced its new Class-E 211 Mini-ITX enclosure - a minimalist enclosure for low powered Mini-ITX boards intended primarily for multimedia use. The case features sleek design with brushed aluminum front panel. An internal power supply eliminates need for external "brick" reducing a wiring mess. The PSU delivers 65W of power, enough to power an Intel Atom or AMD APU based Mini-ITX board and a single 3.5" or 2.5" hard drive.

A built-in USB IR receiver works out of the box with majority remote controls and operating systems. The case was designed with Hi-Fi component form factor in mind and it fits nicely in Audio/Video rack. The case works well in fanless configuration delivering sufficient airflow through openings at the top and the rear - big plus for multimedia application. There an opening for optional 40mm exhaust fan at the real for extra cooling if required. The case was safety certified for US and Canada by UL labs. The case is currently available from manufacturer's online store as well as on Amazon and eBay. It will be arriving at retailers in early 2014 with MSRP US$179.

Ahead of its launch, SilverStone posted pictures of the new Raven RVZ01 mini-ITX gaming case. Built in the flat-bed design, the RVZ01 makes use of PCIe risers to orient the graphics card along the plane of its base. There's enough room for a sub-15 cm dual-slot graphics card, such as ASUS GTX 760 DirectCU Mini or the MSI GTX 760 Gaming-ITX it inspired; a standard ATX power supply; a slot-in slimline optical drive; and a number of 2.5/3.5-inch drives. SilverStone didn't reveal availability information, but we're still hopeful of a 2013 launch.

Lian Li posted pictures of an unreleased prototype case, which it named PC-A51. Design of the new all-aluminium, wide-body ATX mid-tower case is not finalized, and the company is seeking feedback from the PC enthusiast community (you can leave your comments with us). The PC-A51, in its current iteration, starts off signature Lian Li style - a black aluminium monolith, but tries out something unusual with its clear acrylic window, and metallic red interiors. The motherboard tray, along with portions of the drive cages, and the rear panel, feature a contrasting of black and red. The case features a front-oriented PSU bay. The case has room for add-on cards as long as 28 cm, PSUs as long as 16 cm, and CPU coolers as tall as 17.5 cm.

The motherboard tray on the PC-A51 prototype can seat boards in common ATX, micro-ATX, and mini-ITX form-factors; along with the internal drive bay, it's largely tool-free. There's room for five 3.5-inch drives (each tray can stack up to two 2.5-inch drives), and a 5.25-inch drives. Ventilation includes a 140 mm front-intake, two 140 mm top exhausts (which can hold on to radiators as big as 140 x 280 mm); and a 140 mm rear exhaust. The back side of the motherboard tray has clearance of up to 2 cm, which can let you handle your cable spaghetti better. Front-panel connectivity include four USB 3.0 ports (standard header), an eSATA port, and HD audio jacks.

Antec, a global leader in high-performance computer enclosures, power supplies, and mobile accessories today announced the ISK600 Performance Mini ITX PC case. The ISK600 presents a price conscious solution for builders looking for solid construction in a small form factor.

The ISK600 is the newest addition to Antec's award-winning ISK line of mini-ITX cases. It is a versatile enclosure that matches any CEO's desk, designer's office, or family living room. It is designed exclusively for Mini-ITX motherboards and barely takes up desk space at 260mm (10.2 inches) by 191mm (7.5 inches). Akasa is giving final touches to a variant of its Newton series fan-less case for the second-generation NUC platform, which is based on Core "Haswell" processors. Called Newton H (H for "Haswell,") the case measures 150 mm x 170 mm x 47 mm (W x D x H), dry-weighing about 1 kg, making it about 20 mm longer than its predecessor, and pushing it into the mini-ITX gray-area. Made of anodized aluminium, the Newton H features a chunky, ridged body, which doubles up as heatsink for the CPU and PCH. It features cut-outs at the right spots for a couple of front-panel USB 3.0 ports, front-panel HD audio jacks, an infrared receiver, holes at the back for Wi-Fi/Bluetooth antennae, and other connectors standard to the form-factor. Other features include Kensington lock slots, and VESA wall-mount support, which let you securely tuck it away, behind your flat-screen monitor. The company didn't finalize pricing or availability.

SilverStone made an addition to its Precision line of noise-optimized cases, the PS09. This micro-ATX case measures 170 mm x 359.8 mm x 406.6 mm (WxHxD), dry-weighing about 3.34 kg, and made of steel and plastic. Its panels feature noise-dampening foam padding. Internally, the PS09 has room for standard micro-ATX motherboards and mini-ITX motherboards, the motherboard tray features cutouts for CPU cooler and cable management. There's room for add-on cards 35.8 cm long, and CPU coolers 14 cm tall. It features a top-oriented PSU bay. Drive bays includes a couple of 5.25-inchers, four 3.5-inchers, and a 2.5-incher. Ventilation includes just the 120 mm front intake, and 80 mm rear exhaust. SilverStone didn't reveal pricing.

Xigmatek announced availability of its Nebula cubical mini-ITX chassis. Unlike other monolithic cubical cases with bluntly rounded edges, the Nebula features a few interesting design bits. You'll find the case seated on a chrome bottom-tier, and an equally suspended top-tier. The black panels feature a piano-black finish. One of its edges is sliced into with the case's power LED glowing in amber/orange. Front panel connectivity includes a pair of USB 3.0 ports (standard header) and HDA front-panel jacks.

Under the hood, the Xigmatek Nebula features room for a normal-sized mini-ITX motherboard, with room for up to 200 mm long dual-slot graphics cards (an ASUS DirectCU Mini will make it). There's also room for CPU coolers that are up to 80 mm tall. Its storage area has room for two 3.5/2.5-inch drives, with no optical drive slots on offer. There's room for a standard ATX/EPS power supply. The case passively draws in air from bottom vents, a 120 mm Xigmatek XOF PWM-controlled fan pushes hot air out from the rear.
