Shuttle Unveils Robust PCs with Built-in Broadwell Core i3, i5 and i7 Processors

Shuttle is adding three new models to expand its DS series in one fell swoop. The existing DS57U is now complemented in European stores by the DS57U3, DS57U5 and DS57U7 all with soldered Intel Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 processors. The four models, all in black, are based on 14 nm Broadwell micro-architecture, featuring extremely low energy consumption and an improved graphics unit.

New Version of Crucial SSD Software Enhances Burst Performance

Crucial, a leading global brand of memory and storage upgrades, today announced significant updates to its Storage Executive tool. The new version (3.20) features Momentum Cache, an intelligent caching feature that can enhance burst performance by up to 10x[1], and allows users to extend SSD lifetime by reducing redundant writes. SanDisk Delivers New 2TB SATA SSD Optimized for Cloud Data Services

OCZ to Unveil New TLC-Based Trion 100 and Z-Drive 6300 NVMe PCIe

OWC Announces Accelsior S PCIe-SATA Riser Board

OCZ Announces Z-Drive 6000 NVMe SSD

Innodisk Announces Ultra-Reliable DRAM-less SSDs

TDK Unveils the SDS1B Series SATA 6Gbps SSDs

Intel Unveils DC S3510 SSDs for the Data Center

Intel quietly announced availability of its DC S3510 SSDs for data centers. Built in the 2.5-inch form-factor, with SATA 6 Gb/s interface, these drives feature SET (standard-endurance technology) MLC NAND flash built by IMFlash Technology, on a 16 nanometer node, which can take in up to 880 TBW. Its controller offers native 256-bit AES encryption. The drive is available in capacities of 80 GB, 120 GB, 240 GB, 480 GB, 800 GB, 1.2 TB, and 1.6 TB. Fixstars Unveils the Highest-Capacity 2.5-inch SSD

Fixstars unveiled the world's highest capacity SSD in the 2.5-inch form-factor, with a SATA 6 Gb/s interface, the Fixstars SSD-6000M. This drive offers 6,000 GB of unformatted space, and uses 15 nm MLC NAND flash chips. The underlying controller is unknown, but the drive offers reasonably high sequential transfer speeds of up to 540 MB/s read, with up to 520 MB/s writes. The drive supports modern SSD features, such as NCQ, TRIM, and SMART. The drive is 9.5 mm thick, and may not fit in certain kinds of notebooks. The company plans to launch the drive some time in July, 2015, backed by a 3-year warranty.

Mercury S8S Gets a Permanent Spot in CaseLabs' Lineup

Premium custom PC case maker CaseLabs announced that the limited-edition Mercury S8S is now a permanent addition to the company's lineup, with plans for a new production run. The case will start at US $389.99, with a boat-load of customization options. A successor and variant of the Mercury S8, the S8S is a cubical E-ATX / SSI-EEB case with a motherboard tray along the plane of the base, which acts as a partition for its three chambers.
