The Akasa Omega is an interesting refresh of the series of cases. The soft plastic door has been replaced by an aluminum one and the added air vents open the possiblilty for some extreme water cooling without the need to mod anything. The case can still be described as wide, big & black. It looks quite indestructible. Even with these looks, the case is quite light, thanks to the Aluminum used. Akasa made a wise choice by going with a steel mainboard tray and frame, but as nothing on this case is quite ordinary, the tray has a mirror finish and the aluminum frame is painted black.
Despite its usual mid tower height, the case has a lot of space and thanks to the completely modular design, working with this case is incredibly easy. You can also stick up to five hard drives, two external 3.5" devices and four 5.25" devices into the case. Almost two years have passed, since we reviewed the Mirage-62 and the case still works well today, with ample space and expanded cooling capablities. It would have been nice to see the case for the same price though, but a roughly 20 UK Pound premium over previous versions is still acceptable.
