After finishing all tests I can safely answer the following question: "Are the HCP-1200 and AX1200 still the kings of Mega-PSU category?". Well the answer is a plain "No". The Enermax MaxRevo 1350W proved that although it clearly looses at voltage regulation it can deliver huge power, support up to twelve PCIe connectors (if you get two extra PCIe cables and use only one EPS connector) and all the above with Gold efficiency. Also its price is kept at reasonable levels and didn't exceed $300, while the same wattage Thermaltake Toughpower TP-1350M has a price tag of $354.99, almost $55 more than the EMR1350EWT.
It seems that Enermax built a winner with the MaxRevo series. They deliberately chose to sacrifice tight, below 3%, voltage regulation in order to achieve high efficiency but they also raised the voltages on all rails so even at full power the deviation in comparison to the nominal values (12V, 5V and 3.3V) isn't large. When I first saw the 1620W peak power claim for a 1350W PSU I thought that it was inaccurate but I was blown away after our own testing (at high temperatures) confirmed Enermax's claims! I can't help but wonder how the EMR1500EWT will perform.
Enermax's MaxRevo 1350W earns our Editor's Choice because of its huge power capacity along with great efficiency, impeccable build quality and support for up to a dozen PCIe connectors. If you want to buy a powerful, future proof, PSU that will handle all current and future monster graphics cards then the EMR1350EWT is for you. If for some strange reason 1350W are not enough then Enermax won't leave you out of choices since they also have the EMR1500EWT available.
