Windows 7 Startup Time
In this test, we measure the time it takes Windows 7 to boot from the kernel start-up to the execution of start-up programs. An internal kernel timer keeps track of the time and is more accurate than a stop watch.
WinRAR Compression
This test measures the time it takes WinRAR to uncompress the Linux 3.14.7 Kernel xz archive to the tested drive.
In this test, the OCZ Trion 100 stalls for 10 seconds, without disk activity in Windows and every time around 4 seconds of writing have completed. The disk probably rearranges some internal data blocks in those 4 seconds. When we delete the written data (500 MB / 40,000 files), the OS hangs up for around two minutes.
