Cool IT Systems Introduces New Line of CPU and GPU Coolers
CoolIT System has a bunch of new CPU and GPU coolers. They are showing a full range of new coolers for the CPU, starting with the ECO A.L.C. which now places the pump right into the cooling base, increasing compatibility with cases. The unit has an MSRP of $74.99 and should be available now. The next step up is the Vantage A.L.C, which incorporates a display and all the electronics on the CPU bracket. The LCD is a programmable 84x48 pixel screen with a dynamic, custom color backlight and 2.4 GHz wireless communication module. Two buttons on the Vantage module provides a user interface for optimizing all chassis fan speeds, RGB case lighting, LCD Backlight color along with monitoring and alarm triggers. The Vantage also features the so called ESP (Extra Sensory Peripherals) wireless technology which enables the cooler to be controlled and monitored through CoolIT's Maestro software and USB wireless controller. On the GPU cooling front, we got a good look at the OMNI A.L.C. This unit has the same wireless system and features interchangable plates between the water block and GPU. This means that you can simply exchange the this plate when upgrading your graphics card.

But he was (don't know if he is now) pro-actively going around to every forum saying: "don't buy, don't buy!"
Most people want to make an informed decision by seeing direct comparisons in thorough, impartial, reviews.
Asetek has been in the specialised cooling game a lot longer than coolermaster...
Granted CoolIT is yet to earn their "stars and stripes" but I don't care about reputation.
Bottom line I care about performance, so long as we don't get exploding Eco's! :D
Honestly it should be up to CoolIT to go around and show they fixed the prob rather than pretend there isant one.
Have look at all my posts in other forums, search for the user jalyst, then have a look at his.
You will see that I often dismiss evidence that purportedly strengthens CoolIT's leadership claim as "crap".
Anyway I'm not interested in continuing such a silly debate...
He has his reasons for being an undying supporter Corsair, & he has a right to have them.
But no one has the right to "muddy the waters" for others trying to make objective decisions.
im no fan of any of the premade water cooling setups no matter which company makes it.
And since he had one and it failed he has a right to voice his displeasure...Not only that he also linked to a reputable site that experienced the same thing 5 times over. what fantasy planet are you from? Here in the USA its called free speech, right or wrong.
Lets just see how things 'pan out' before saying "oh his sux" or "that rocks".
The evidence isn't on the table yet so we're debating crap.....
We are looking for the "jury to be out" on a the current, read: CURRENT.
Yes you can cast aspersions that because the last generation was a shocker the next will be a joke too.
But the reality is we simply do not know that yet!
That's all I'm arguing against...
He/you have the right to say your experiences were terrible in the last generation.
But he/you have no basis for knowing how good or bad the next one is going to be, YET.
My A.L.C seems nicely built, and I couldn't imagine it going wrong.
Seems like a bad batch got out is all to me.
Untill CoolIT redesigns their rad with integral metal barbs (like even the junk Coolermaster one did) that part will always be the weak link. the prob is a design flaw, glad yours works for you but its highly unlikely it was just a bad batch
Here is a shot of an old CM rad
OH!
last thing you "made" me take apart, speakers! sub is about 6" 6 across but it takes up the majority of the cabinet so its not a case of them using a tiny speaker hiding behind a gril, its just the actual cabinet is tiny! only an inch( and a half perhaps) either side of it really.
And even if it is, I don't see how one can jump to the conclusion that this alone is going to result in it performing worse.
Which is again why I prefer to hold judgement till we have actual "side-by-side" reviews.
Now go take a look at Corsairs and Asetek. LOL, I speak the truth Grasshopper...That site makes the sub look just like the logitech one (kind of misleading)
dont mess with the fittings on ur cooler, if it works for you just enjoy it.:)
Okay I've had a look, I honestly can't see what the problem you're referring to is.
From those pictures I can't conclusively tell whether the barbs are plastic or not.
We need a better source, and more importantly...
Isn't it pointless drawing conclusions from that alone until we have real comparative data?
I guesstimate (warning gross speculation) that it will be no better than the H50, maybe even worse.
Even if it's better, I guesstimate the difference will be so negligible that the best buy will be determined by pricing/support.
Which means Corsair/Asetek will most likely win out....
But if the avg. difference is more than 3 degrees, then I'd prolly be interested...
These things are failing as everything else does, just these things cause trouble when they go!
Goes with the teratory(sp?) with WC though to be honest.
Google " Coolit failure"
only top 2 results are reported failures for me, one of the blogs has links to negative reviews which also doesn't add up to that much.
But look at reviews for my mobo, and look on Asus forum on my boards section, so many negative reviews/comments but mine is epic, and I'd be willing to bet the vast majority are also shit hot boards :D
but most importantly my board is only one product, you can't judge an entire brand of one product.
Seems its just been blown out of proportion to be honest.
But I just want to see thorough, impartial, figures, then I'll decide if I want to take the risk.
Response I just got from a CoolIT sales rep, after enquiring about availability in Oz.
To be taken with a colossal grain of salt! :D
Thank you for your interest in our product.
The ECO ALC will be available through our Australian reseller called Altech in about two weeks.
In our testing the ECO ALC outperforms the Corsair H50 by as much as 8C depending on the testing situation.
Doesn't really mean anything IMO, the earlier lead I posted may turn-out to be more handy.
I've asked if they're getting it out to tech reviewers....
so with any luck I'll sort of a review of the new ECO cooler !
Hmm not ideal without a H50 to compare it to...
Perhaps you could email Corsair and say the same? :D
I'm going to be buying a H50 in the next day or so.
If the reviews are ok & if I feel like it, I may buy the Eco later.
Then I can compare the two...
(its pretty basic, look at the diam of the fittings/hoses on the coolers in question)
No I am not an engineer....
So now you're saying it's more to do with the diam, not that the Eco's barbs are plastic?
I have actually tried to compare hose width from photos alone, & I can't see a marked difference.
It looks like the Eco might be slightly thinner, but how that affects the total package I've no idea.
I don't think anyone could know, engineer or not, do you?
If you have an engineering background in a similar area...
Rather than be condescending, why not explain what you understand that I don't?
I havent made 1 personal attack.
To the engineers that design this stuff im condescending, to you im trying to be polite. Since this is such a simple matter and yet you continue to not grasp what im trying to explain I give up.
(see I can underline words too, lol)
I now see where some confusion may have crept in, I misread post #63 in my response to it at #64.
In earlier posts you said barbs extending from the rad are plastic, I thought you were saying the same thing at #63.
But the basis for your claims of an inferior product had already shifted to "thinner hoses/fittings"...
So understandably you were irritated at #69 after you read my response talking about plastic barbs.
**edit** Yes as I said, slightly thinner fittings/hoses I think, so what?
What are you trying to say; "Thinner hoses, so worse cooler"?
Isn't that overly simplistic?
I know thick hoses can be important, but that's only one part of the equation.
How can you deduce that it's better based on that alone?
I don't even know for sure if they are thinner, I've not found any measurements yet.
And I don't know the dimensions of it's other components either.
If there's schematics/measurements that demonstrate why most components of the H50
are better, then lay em out.
It's still prolly pointless until we've just got the darn things 'side-by-side'.
Even then, in certain scenarios one may be slightly better than the other, & vice versa.
I just want to see real comprative reviews and will draw my conclusions from that, simple.*
Others can draw theirs from the disdain they may have for one co., that's fine by me.
Of course if the results are close, things like dodgy track record, & quality of support will come into play!
Apologies if I have in some way offended you...
I just could not understand some of the points you were trying to make.
And I can be anal in pressing for clarification if a point is not expressed clearly (in my mind).
I will not try to debate anything with you any more, all the best.
I'm unsubscribing from this thread, happy debating & enjoy your H50's/Eco's everyone!
Jed
*I'm getting a H50 or cousin anyway...
I'm not prepared to wait till the body of evidence is conclusive either way.
I like the community here not TPU its self XD
But I have done reviews in various mediums about various products over the years.
If you could get a company to agree to something like that you would have to prove it was their fault.
So lets look at the likely demographic all of these coolers are aimed to (not only CoolIT but Corsair etc) Is someone with a $3K comp likely to use this product
(a simple thin single rad, 1/4"id tubing, non serviceable entry level cooling system) Unlikely
But someone just starting with limited experience and lower end to maybe mid level hardware so about $500 to 1000.
So is that person with $500+ worth of hardware likely going to hire a specialist to prove there was a defect? Now add to that the cost of an Attorney. The companies know that and realize their pretty safe from significant problems. In the chance you see this I am in no way offended.
its hard for me to explain every detail of what I am thinking so a bit of all this un needed back and forth is my fault (but a quick look to the left should make what I say have a bit of relevance)
Feel free to debate me anytime or anyone else for that matter (remember that free speech thing)
