Upcoming Corsair Hydro Series H80, H100 CPU Coolers Listed

A Swedish online store early-listed two of Corsair's unheard of upcoming CPU coolers in the Hydro series, the Hydro H80 and Hydro H100. The Hydro series includes pre-assembled, closed-loop CPU water-cooling kits that are relatively inexpensive compared to full-fledged custom-made loops. Corsair sources these kits from OEMs such as CoolIT and Asetek. Both new models are positioned above the existing single-fan slim H50, single-fan bigger radiator H60, and double-fan (push-pull) bigger radiator H70.

The Hydro H80 uses a thick 120x120 mm area radiator that's roughly as big as that of the H70, but has a bigger block unit, probably amounting to higher water flow. The block unit also appears to have a control knob. The Hydro H100, on the other hand, uses a large 240x120 mm area radiator that can hold two 120 mm fans on either sides, but comes with two fans. It seems like H100 has the same exact block unit as the H80, with its control knob. The Hydro H100 is listed at 1,075 Swedish Krona (US $172.5), while the Hydro H80 is listed at 965 Krona ($154).

I like the look of the H100, but I want to get in to real water cooling.

Unfortunately for me, I have neither the balls or the funds to attempt it right now.

LAN_deRf_HAThese will probably be the first iteration to really pull ahead of air coolers, but I'm left wondering why bother. My H70 and many coolers aren't challenged by 1155 procs, and 2011 is going to be a die shrink so it might run even cooler. Paying over $100 for no increase in overclocking headroom seems like a waste when you'd be just as well off spending half that.
same cooling, less noise. easy.

and not everyone runs on 1155.

Its funny how some random forumer can tell that it wont out perform the air coolers. the H70 is no different from the top air coolers if used with the same high performance fan with acceptable noise levels. Pretty sure the H80 will out perform the H70 in terms of noise profile and the H100 will out perform even the best top aircooler with a lesser noise profile.

Im just wondering how to use the H100 for cases that dont have top 120x2 exhausts.

If the H100 is made by CoolIt, then their 240mm CoolIt ECO should be an indication of its performance... and I'm not impressed.

CM Hyper 212+ with Dual Fan config... and you're all set!

Best investment in a CPU fan I have ever made, for only $33 after taxes.

No need for fancy water cooling!

EDIT: Would there be a big temp difference against a NH-D14?

I'm just glad to see that closed loop ready-to-install water cooled systems are now also featuring 240mm grills. With so many cases supporting that size I was sure we'd see 'em sooner or later!

Still not good enough! I want a 560mm rad with a high-power tec in an all-in-one!

? We're talking about an unreleased product. All other platforms are being phased out. You will inevitably be on 1155 or 2011 which will run remarkably cool. AM3+ probably will fall in line as well. Extreme cooling just isn't relevant this gen. Going to a crazy WC setup might get you what, from 53x to 56x? Neither sustainable for 24/7 anyways. Even locked at 4.5 Ghz I idle at 30-38c. This kind of stuff just isn't needed anymore.

Inevitably? You gonna pay for mine? I'm still on socket 775, buddy, and I don't plan on upgrading anytime soon.

I'm sorry $172 seems like too much for the H100, especially if it's only 5-8% cooler than high end air setups that cost less, I say it would need to come in at $130-$150 for it to be of value, or be 20%+ cooler.

LAN_deRf_HAIf it's so damn hot why are you wasting your money on a tricked out rig? Get yourself a friggin' AC.
I kinda gotta agree with this. That's why I'm rig-less now. High ambient temps burnt it slam up. It's smiling down on me from PC heaven:cry: I intent on buying a mobile AC unit and monster air coolers for my next rig. I was gonna go liquid, but I'd get the same problems without some sort of external cooling.

Funds are indeed a problem. Good watercooling isn't cheap. Balls, though, is a different thing. You don't really need to be ballsy to build your own water cooling setup. You just need to work carefully and leak-test.

That's it.

Pretty soon these are going to cost as much as a custom loop, they way they are going :)

So why would you spend $150 on extreme cooling instead of putting it toward an upgrade?

If i get the 650D iwant, and the H100 performs well i might grab it just so i have a better selection of ram to pick from tired of the 80% of ram dosent fit under your tower heatsink issue.

RejZoRIt's not so much in gaining an OC headroom but having it cool at very high clocks. Plus these usually take up less space on CPU socket alone which might be better for some (for my system if i coudl fit the radiator on the grill...).
QFT. One thing sandy bridge needs is more socket space. Had to go back to running a megashadow in pull config because my noctua would not allow me to use my 8GB kit (and I was starving at 4gb) because they are not standard heatsink height RAM.

With so many cases having 140mm fan spots I would think a new Corsair product would take advantage of that.

dual fan rad is a given, but not hooking up with 140MM, I dont know about that.

Extreme cooling? I dont see any mention of LN2 :)

EDIT: In case it was not clear, these little pocket Water setups do have place.

A) No giant heatsink on your CPU, = more case and motherboard compatibility, in fact smaller cases can be used...

B) You move the heat exhaust actually outside the case, so case flow matters less.
