Windows 8 x86 in Q4-2012, Windows 8 ARM in Q2-2013?

Even as there's quite some buzz around Microsoft's next major version of Windows, there are reports such as one from Bright Side of News citing "multiple sources close to Microsoft, or inside [it]," revealing the tentative launch schedule of the two main branches of Windows: for x86 platforms (client and enterprise), and ARM (for tablets and compact computing devices). Windows 8 for clients and enterprise (x86 architecture), will get up to 5 months' head-start over the much hyped ARM version for tablets. It is expected to be launched some time in Q4 2012, while the ARM version, some time in Q2 2013.

Intel and AMD can rub their hands as they both have extremely compact x86 processors fit for the tablet form-factor planned, and can woo tablet designers to opt for their solutions and get Windows 8 tablets instead of waiting for the ARM version of the operating system. Tablet vendors with mature ARM-based designs can always opt for Google's Android operating system, which will see no major competition for the greater part of this year.

OH, I have such a headache
newtekie1If you are comparing it to Win7 Home Premium, I can write you a whole list, but then again the list would mostly be things that Win7 Pro has.

Win7 Home Premium is shit...
Well I would not say that. The only thing my OS does not have is the language pack. That is it! What the hell do I need that for any way? I only know 2 languages any way, English and BAD English.

erockerQuestion: Where can you get the latest release candidate for Windows 8?
There isn't a Windows 8 RC as of yet. I believe that the "Public Preview" is going to be available tomorrow 02/29/2012. That was the last I heard on it anyhow.

TRWOVDisable Metro and you get the start menu. Have been using it since the DP.
It was a planned "feature" after the Developer's Preview build and will be "present" in Consumer's Preview release.

The window in the logo is pointing the wrong way. It doesn't compliment the text as if there are two seperate components. It's called visual direction, very basic term in design.

erockerI don't think we'll know until it is released and thoroughly reviewed.

The consumer preview of Windows 8 is expected to be released in late February which means it should be released some time today!

BTW, for what its worth,….while it is common knowledge that the metro interface can be disabled through the registry (thus restoring the classic start menu )or by using a utility, the question is will Microsoft provide a toggle of their own in an official capacity? I say this because its unclear if such methods (registry / utility) will work on ARM based Windows 8 devices.
