That is definitely their problem. Also, DDR4 won't solve their problem with over-production and swelling inventories for current DDR3.

I am for one happy that the new Windows is streamlined and not bloated in any way, and does not need more RAM.

Please when will the HDD makers get disappointed too? I want HDDs prices to drop!

So they are mad that you aren't forced to upgrade to ddr4 ram? Ha.

I dont see how it's M$ fault for NOT making Win 8 RAM heavy... lots of people are now running 8GB RAM with some power users on 16 and above, and that is barely even taken up with games, and when it comes to 3D creation, thats where VRAM comes in. Getting 16GB kits became cheap, so everybody got them. Even home users all went out and got themselves 8GB kits when ordering their home desktops. If their inventories are swelled with DDR3, I would have thought they would hold off on production, surely they must have seen it coming?
As for DDR4, the only people they can complain about is MoBo manufacturers and developers for not including it. And I dare say the only people who will buy DDR4 immediately are the enthusiasts, and exactly how expensive is 16-32GB of DDR4 2133Mhz going to cost? It would probably be more cost effective to remain at DDR3 for the marginal increase in performance.

Not like we need lots of ram anyways. I'm never going to use all 16 gbs I have. I'd say ram drives but outside of benchmarks they don't seem to be faster than a SSD in real world use.

DDR4 support isn't likely to be supported by processors until around 2015 since memory controllers are now built into the processor and those take longer to develop.

My advice to RAM manufacturers... hardware RAM disk.

Maybe DRAM manufacturers should be pushing RAMdisks then.

Honestly i think 6GB is the realistic cutoff. So 8GB will do just fine, I also wouldn't blame W8 DRAM makers need to realize most people that have a computer are not using it at 100% load all the time or even never. The only use for so much ram now is for big RAMdisk and servers...

I personally have 4GB which was the normal back in 2008 and have never gone over 3.5GB.
Though in my next build I'm going to have min. 16GB or 32GB, but if price is right than 64GB for RAMdisk.

Love that lol. Oh well boohoo. PRices are cheap and memory is always an easy upgrade. Sheesh greedy bums.

I cannot believe that Windows 8 has been causing a lot of problems within the market's hardware industry. Because Windows 8 uses the same kernel as 7, it seems almost as relevant as upgrade Vista to 7 awhile back. Performance wise, really.

Win8 is based on the same Kernel, but it is much improved, just as Win7's Kernel was based on Vista's, and Vista's Kernel based on XP's before it.

Why do you think Win7 ran more efficiently compared to Vista on the same hardware? with the same thing happening with Win8, albeit to a lesser extent.

An OS shouldn't be too demanding in any way. We shall wait for super realistic Xbox next/PS4 ports, Adobe bloatware, 4k video, retina desktop displays that will run those videos...

So they were hoping for a vista re-release to catch people needing to upgrade ram to make their OS run smooth.
