Intel To Launch Two New Dual-Core Haswell CPUs In September

CPU World has reported that while Intel already has an army of Haswell based dual-core processors in the pipeline, unofficial specifications for two new models, one belonging to the entry-level Celeron family and the other a part of the Core i5 lineup, have surfaced.

The Celeron 2955U, a U-series Haswell dual-core SKU will pack a core frequency of 1.4 GHz (no Turbo), no Hyper Threading (two cores and two threads), 2MB of last level L3 cache, 15W TDP, "Haswell HD Graphics" (which doesn't give us any clue whether it's the HD4400 or HD4600 or even something slower than that, but most definitely not the HD5000). The socket type for the Celeron part is BGA1168.

The Core i5-4200H H-series Haswell dual-core SKU will reportedly pack a base core clock speed of 2.8GHz (no word on the Turbo clock speed), Hyper Threading support (two cores and four threads), 3MB of L3 cache, a substantially higher 47W TDP and the BGA1364 socket type. There's no word on the GPU part, but it could be the powerful HD5000 for all we know. What we do know is that the Haswell H-series SKUs are targeted at All-In-One systems.

The report says that both CPUs will be officially launched on September 1. No word on pricing as of yet.

Me too waiting for such a laptop. Something light without a discrete GPU and plays games just fine with the IGP

If it will have Iris Pro, that would be awesome in a NUC as well.
