GeForce GTX TITAN-Z Market Availability Delayed?
NVIDIA's flagship dual-GPU graphics card, the GeForce GTX TITAN-Z, was expected to go on sale later today. That launch is now delayed, according to a SweClockers report. The three thousand Dollar question is why. According to some sources, NVIDIA is effecting a last minute design change that sees a meatier cooler on the card, than the one Jen-Hsun Huang rafikied to the press at GTC 2014.
There may have been a last-minute realization at Santa Clara, that the card - as presented at GTC - may not cut it in the ring against AMD's Radeon R9 295X2, or at least it won't be able to warrant its vulgar $3000 price tag, against the R9 295X2's $1500; despite AMD's rather messy three-piece approach to its liquid-cooled product (the card itself, a radiator, and coolant tubing), and so NVIDIA could be redesigning the GTX TITAN-Z with an even bigger cooler, to facilitate higher clock speeds. So, what's changed? Eagle-eyed market sleuths noticed a difference between the press-shots NVIDIA released at GTC, and the ones online retailers put up to solicit pre-orders. The card "originally" had a 2.5-slot thick cooler; while the one in the press-shots retailers put up appears to have a full 3-slot thick one. There is no word on when NVIDIA will make this beefier, sweatier GTX TITAN-Z available for people with three grand to spend on a graphics card.

A price for 3 Titans should be a dual slot only.
Delays reason is clear: AMD 2xR9-290X was better on tests and now have subsequently increase the operating frequency. Of course, this says that will definitely locked clockeng.:ohwell: and SLI will cover all areas on the motherboard.:banghead: Those who will have a deep enough pocket to will subsequently purchased a water block if they have something in the mind. AMD 2xR9-290X in the Europa wins already for € 1,299. So what should a conscientious customer buys.
cause the the titan z is $3000 ! that's twice the $1500 r9 295x2... so that means the processing power of the titan z will be 2x of the r9 295x2. which means the titan z will perform twice the power of r9 295x2
am i right ? cause if i'm wrong... then... damn nvidia for charging it $3000 !!!!!!
If you want DP, go W9100.
If you want to get your sphyncter stretched and slow DP (or vendor locked yourself with CUDA, but getting vendor locked is always a sign of liking large stuff inserted down there), go titan.

At its target resolutions (3840x2160, 2560x1600, 5760x1080, etc.), several publications found R9 295X2 faster than GTX 780 Ti SLI. That doesn't bode well for GTX TITAN-Z. You're not going to buy a TITAN-Z for 1920x1080.
people always tend to skip the 780s and love to compare the r9s to the titans because it gives them more contrast and proves a moot point- and they know it, but they just love repeating it to death.
I was actually wondering why the plate isn't 3 slots, 2.5 would just look wonky in an actual case.
The cooler was and still is 2.5 slots.
The 295x2,while not my cup of tea, puts Nvidia's $3000 card to shame. They need tweak the Titan Z much as possible to make it relevant. If i wanted a dual solution (which i don't) I wouldn't hesitate to get the AMD card over Nvidia's. Though in practicality I would double up on my 780ti Classified instead.
I'm hoping that these ultra pricey cards are complete flops commercially. Even the 295x2 is stupid priced. The Titan-Z is an insult to anyone with 1/2 a brain. Remember the 7950 (AKA: R9 280) was less than $200 ~6 months ago. The 280's are ~$100 more than that right now!

I have suspected all along that 2x Titan Black would outperform a Titan Z for less money although the prices seem to be getting pumped up for the Blacks so that may not be true anymore cost wise but performance wise I think it will hold true.
the real problem is, a dual gpu card should not cost more than sli/crossfire 2 card.
good old dual gpu card was saving money and space.
now they just have no sens,..
the maximum $$$ a video card should be is 1k$gold a piece
not 1.5 or 3k the fu**
For those of you who are clueless about how the economy works, view the full length of this video before commenting and you'll be a much more educated person:
Who wants this graphics card is already buying at least three 4k res monitors.
You people need to know what you really want.
This type of products draws only stupid comments ( i mean in others forums and not on TPU )of people who have neither the means nor the money to afford the materials you need (4k panels ) to rely on a similar product.
I say goodbye to 4K resolution to 2015 or 2016 when it will be available to all.
If the Titan-Z is x2 Titan Black then thats 10.2 Tflops, the 295 X2 is 11.2 Tflops.
Edit. no thats wrong, the 295 X2 is 11.5 Tflops, it as a little higher clocks to the 290X
