Apple Readies New iMac Desktops for Q3-2015
Apple is readying a new generation of iMac desktops, which it plans to launch in Q3-2015, likely at its September press event. The new Macs are expected to come with faster processors (likely Intel "Skylake,") faster DDR4 memory, and an increase in display resolutions across the board, including a 21.5-inch model with 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) resolution, besides its 27-inch 5K (5120 x 2880 pixels) model. The display panels in these macs will feature a new LED phosphor material called KSF (K2SiF6:Mn), which improves color saturation. The displays will offer 30-bit (10 bpc) color depth, with the ability to produce 1.07 billion colors.

Its coming...one of the certainties of life is that Apple computers will break down within two years if not sooner. Cheap Chinese parts and case designs made for looks but not cooling ftw!
Such a far cry from the golden age of Apple where their machines would still be working a decade later.
Sado-masochism everywhere in a sad world. :(
Anyways, kudos for the 21.4 inch 4K display.
Anyway, welcome back! TPU is not funny without you. :)
If they start putting GT740/730 with DDR5 in ultra slim systems that would definitelly be better than iGPU, but as of this particular line of Apple they are not.
Welcome back, I didn't know you were missing in action for some time. But now that I think of it, haven't seen you in a while :)
Also, increased bandwidth of DDR4 is bound to improve iGPU performance not to mention all of the improvements to the iGPU that are already being made going forward. So we're talking about an Iris Pro that's faster than current Iris Pros. Once again, probably not worth the price but is adequate for most people.
